5 Seconds of Summer’s sixth studio album, EVERYONE’S A STAR!, arrived on November 14, 2025. In an Official Charts track-by-track interview, Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin and Michael Clifford explain how they see the songs individually, offering a more specific picture of the record than a broad album description.
What is EVERYONE’S A STAR!?
Released through Republic Records, the album is 5 Seconds of Summer’s sixth studio record. The band recorded it in Los Angeles and Nashville during 2024 and 2025; the release announcement names Jason Evigan, Julian Bunetta and John Ryan among its producers and collaborators. The standard edition has 12 tracks and runs 36 minutes in Apple Music’s US catalog listing.
The album also reached No. 1 on the Official UK Albums Chart on November 21, 2025, according to Official Charts. That is a UK chart result, not a claim about its position in other countries.
What did the band say about the songs?
The Official Charts feature follows the album’s sequence and gathers the members’ comments about individual tracks. Two remarks capture its conversational, song-by-song format: Luke Hemmings explains the title-track choice with, “Everyone’s A Star! is the title track because it’s the best song.” Ashton Irwin recalls “NOT OK” making an immediate impression: “NOT OK stood out instantly when we’d finished it.” Both quotations are from the Official Charts interview.

“Everyone’s A Star!” and “NOT OK”
Hemmings’ brief explanation is a direct vote of confidence in the opener and title track. Irwin gives more detail about “NOT OK”: he says the song began with a drum loop Jason Evigan brought in. After the band tracked on it, the arrangement took shape around synthesizers. His account describes a song whose eventual sound emerged through development, rather than arriving fully formed with the initial loop.
The rest of the sequence
The standard album’s running order is “Everyone’s A Star!,” “NOT OK,” “Telephone Busy,” “Boyband,” “No. 1 Obsession,” “I’m Scared I’ll Never Sleep,” “istillfeelthesame,” “Ghost,” “Sick of Myself,” “Evolve,” “The Rocks” and “Jawbreaker.” The interview’s track-by-track approach makes the members’ comments the guide to the songs, rather than treating the record as one undifferentiated statement.

How is the album’s sound and subject matter described?
Official Charts characterizes the record as an eclectic blend of pop, grunge and shoegaze. Apple Music’s editorial description highlights loneliness and change, alongside edgy, anthemic electronics, alt-pop and pop-punk. Those are publication descriptions; they sit alongside, rather than replace, the members’ own song-specific remarks.
In the release announcement, 5 Seconds of Summer describe their intent collectively: “We built this record from a really genuine place. We weren’t chasing a sound or a trend, we were chasing what felt exciting to us. Every track feels alive in a way that reminds us of why we started making music in the first place. EVERYONE’S A STAR! is the most ‘us’ we’ve ever sounded, and we’re so proud to share it with everyone who’s been part of this journey.” The statement appears in Universal Music Canada’s November 14, 2025 release announcement.

Are there different album editions?
The standard edition contains the 12-song sequence above. The band’s official store documents member-exclusive CDs with a different bonus track tied to each member edition. For example, the Ashton edition lists “Chest” as track 13. The store page reviewed for that edition showed it as sold out, so that listing does not establish current availability. See the official Ashton Deluxe CD page for its edition details.
