His comments also vary by context: some are broad, recurring objections, while others praise one match, storyline, or period of work. The names below are sourced examples, not a confirmed recreation of the exact ten wrestlers in the original title.
Five AEW stars Cornette has strongly criticized
These examples reflect comments attributed to Cornette in the cited interviews and podcast coverage. They are his opinions, not objective verdicts on the wrestlers’ abilities.

The Young Bucks
In a transcript of a later episode of The Jim Cornette Experience, Cornette said the Young Bucks “drive people away” and appeal to “a very, very tiny audience.” That is a broad criticism of their style and audience appeal, rather than a reaction limited to one match. The source is a secondary transcript, so its wording should be understood in that context. Cornette’s official site describes his weekly shows and links to his official channel.
Kenny Omega
In a 2017 report, Wrestling Inc. quoted Cornette making an exceptionally hostile comment about Omega, objecting to his past matches with young girls and inflatable dolls. The language was inflammatory, and the criticism reflected Cornette’s objection to that material as well as his wider disapproval of Omega. It should be read as a historical statement from 2017, not as a neutral description of Omega’s work. Wrestling Inc.’s report also records Cornette’s comments about other wrestlers.

Jon Moxley
In a 2022 interview reported by Inside The Ropes, Cornette called Moxley “the absolute sh*ttiest wrestler on the f*cking planet.” The phrase captures the severity of Cornette’s opinion; it is not an independently established assessment of Moxley’s skill. The same interview included praise for other AEW performers and criticism of the company’s use of FTR. Inside The Ropes provides the interview context.
Joey Ryan
A 2017 Wrestling Inc. report quotes Cornette calling Ryan an “embarrassment” to wrestling and objecting to his sexualized comedy spots. This is criticism of Ryan’s performance style and presentation, not a general measure of his career. The report places the comments alongside Cornette’s remarks about other performers.

Omega’s criticism has a notable qualification
Cornette’s negative view of Omega was not absolute. In 2021, WrestleTalk reported that Cornette called the Danielson–Omega match the best match Omega had had in his life, and credited Omega’s athletic ability and capacity to perform great moves. That wording is the outlet’s summary of Cornette’s podcast comments, not a direct quotation from the passage it reported. It shows why a single label like “hates” can obscure a more mixed record. WrestleTalk’s coverage discusses the match.
Five AEW stars Cornette has praised or spoken well of
Positive remarks need the same context as criticism: some concern a particular performance or storyline rather than a lasting ranking of a wrestler.

MJF
In a 2022 Inside The Ropes interview, Cornette called MJF “a once-in-a-generation verbal talent” who “can work as well.” He also said MJF drew viewers despite not being the biggest wrestler. In later podcast transcript material, Cornette praised a manipulative MJF storyline as “the best MJF stuff in a long time.” Those are positive comments from different periods and contexts: one addresses MJF’s verbal and in-ring ability, the other a particular storyline. Inside The Ropes reports the 2022 interview, while the transcript of The Jim Cornette Experience records the later remark.
Bryan Danielson
In the same 2022 interview, Cornette said Danielson was “the best wrestler in the world in December for about 6 weeks.” The limited time frame matters: it was praise for a particular run and presentation, not a claim that Cornette had ranked Danielson first indefinitely. Inside The Ropes gives the interview context.
Rank #4
FTR
Cornette included FTR among the acts he thought AEW had failed to capitalize on in the 2022 interview. That is praise for the team’s potential paired with criticism of the company’s booking; it does not establish FTR as one of his favorite teams. Inside The Ropes reports the comments.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn
A 2017 report quotes Cornette saying, “I never said that (once again) they were bad wrestlers and they couldn’t get over.” He described past disagreements over their presentation and conduct, while acknowledging that they changed aspects of their presentation and became successful. These remarks make Owens and Zayn poor fits for an uncomplicated list of people Cornette “hates.” Wrestling Inc.’s report covers the distinction.

Kenny Omega, for one match
The Danielson–Omega match is also a clear example of Cornette praising a specific performance while maintaining broader criticism of Omega. In 2021 coverage, WrestleTalk characterized Cornette as calling it Omega’s best match. This is a reaction to one match, not evidence that his overall opinion of Omega turned positive. WrestleTalk’s report describes the podcast comments.

Cornette’s public comments support examples of sharp criticism and qualified praise, but they do not prove a definitive list of five wrestlers he “hates” and five he “likes.” The exact ten names intended by the title are not established by the available sources. His official site describes two weekly programs, The Jim Cornette Experience and Jim Cornette’s Drive-Thru, and links to his official channel for full episodes and clips: jimcornette.com.
Quick Recap
- Read the harsher remarks as attributed opinions, not facts about a wrestler’s ability.
- Distinguish criticism of a recurring style from a reaction to one performance.
- Keep later praise in view where it qualifies a broader negative stance, especially in Omega’s case.
