4 Non Blondes’ new album is not confirmed for release in 2026. Pitchfork reported a 2026 target in 2025, but Linda Perry later told NME the forthcoming record—reported under the title 1994—would arrive in 2027. That is an estimate, not a confirmed release date.
Is 4 Non Blondes releasing a second album in 2026?
There is no confirmed 2026 release date in the reports available. In 2025, Pitchfork reported that 4 Non Blondes had signed with Kill Rock Stars for a new album targeted for 2026, to be co-released with Linda Perry’s 670 Records imprint. In a later report dated May 22, 2026, NME quoted Perry saying the album would arrive in 2027. These are statements made at different times; the later estimate supersedes the earlier target as the most current timing reported, but neither establishes a firm date.
Asked about the schedule, Perry told NME: “4 Non Blondes are going to release a record in top of 2027, but I’m going drop a couple songs on this side of the year too,” NME quoted her as saying. The statement points to a 2027 album and the possibility of a couple of songs earlier, but does not give dates or confirm that those songs have been released.
What is the new 4 Non Blondes album called?
NME reported the forthcoming record under the title 1994. The sources cited here do not independently confirm that as the final album title, so it is best described as the reported title rather than a settled one. The May 2026 reports also do not establish an exact release day, track list, format, preorder, or current release status.

What is known about the recording?
In a May 2026 interview with Guitar World, Perry said the songs had developed a live feel and that the band was finishing the record in the studio. She described the process this way: “Suddenly the songs started showing up, and they had this very cool live vibe, and people just started joining in and singing because they were easy and relatable. So we’re in the studio finishing the record now.” This indicates recording progress at the time of the interview, not that the album was complete or scheduled for a particular date.
Why this is not the band’s first recorded second album
The current reunion-era album is distinct from an earlier 4 Non Blondes second-album project. Red Light Management says that earlier record was recorded but never released, and that Perry is revisiting several of its tracks in the context of the reformed band. It should not be confused with the new album reported as 1994.

The band’s released debut is Bigger, Better, Faster, More! The planned but unreleased 1990s record does not change that discography distinction: the forthcoming reunion-era project is the band’s first new album announcement since its debut, not a 1990s record finally receiving a confirmed release.

As of the May 2026 reports, the practical answer is to treat 2027 as Perry’s reported estimate, not a confirmed launch date. No exact date or release listing is established here. The 2026 target remains useful context for how plans were previously described, but it should not be repeated as the album’s current release year.
