How to read Chanel quote collections
Quote collections are not all equally well sourced, and familiar lines can appear in different forms. For example, PureWow’s 2019 list uses both “classy and fabulous” and “who and what she wants”; Wikiquote gives a book trail for the former, while the latter is listed by PureWow. These records make the wording and attribution traceable to published sources, but do not amount to checking an original manuscript or recording. Wikiquote also gives named publication trails for the fashion and “think for yourself” sayings.
For broader context, the collections differ in size and emphasis: PureWow presented 11 sayings in 2019, while ELLE Taiwan published 20 English-and-Chinese entries in 2024, ranging across style, fashion, dress, elegance, women, daily life, attitude, luxury, and men.
