Three Netflix releases stand out on the October 12–18, 2026 calendar: The Diplomat returns for Season 4 on October 15, the four-part documentary series TYSON arrives October 13, and the thriller Sacrifice premieres October 16. They offer three different kinds of viewing: political drama, a real-life sports biography, and a hostage thriller.
Three picks, three different viewing moods
These are editorial picks from Netflix’s confirmed calendar, not titles Netflix has ranked as the week’s biggest releases. The selection spans a returning scripted series, a documentary series, and a film. Netflix’s calendar does not give these titles audience forecasts, ratings, runtimes, or age ratings.

The Diplomat Season 4 — October 15
Netflix describes the series as following a US diplomat negotiating a high-stakes role as ambassador to the UK while managing a strained marriage to an ambitious political strategist. Season 4 is the choice for viewers who want a continuing political drama and an ongoing character story. The calendar does not specify the new season’s episode count or further plot details.
TYSON — October 13
Netflix lists TYSON as a four-part documentary series exploring Mike Tyson’s life. It is the documentary pick of the three for viewers interested in boxing and sports biography. The calendar does not describe the series’ subjects, perspective, or conclusions, so it does not establish how it balances different parts of Tyson’s life.

Netflix says its original shows and films typically release globally at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time.
