Three HBO Original dramas featured in Warner Bros. Discovery’s announced 2025 lineup were The Last of Us season two, The White Lotus season three and IT: Welcome to Derry. They are a useful snapshot of the year’s slate: two returning series and one new series. The dates and episode counts below come from HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery announcements; premiere timing can vary by region.
How these three shows fit HBO’s 2025 slate
Warner Bros. Discovery named all three as HBO Original dramas in its August 2024 announcement of programming planned for 2025. That makes them a selection from the announced slate, not a ranking of the year’s most anticipated shows. The available announcement confirms The White Lotus season three was planned for 2025, but does not establish its exact premiere date or episode count.

The Last of Us season two
HBO’s 2025 pressroom announcement listed a seven-episode season and an HBO debut on Sunday, April 13, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, with streaming on Max. That is the U.S. date and platform wording in HBO’s announcement, not a universal release time. Warner Bros. Discovery separately announced an April 14, 2025 launch on Max in Australia.
HBO also announced a season-three renewal before season two premiered. The renewal is separate from the seven-episode count for season two.

The White Lotus season three
The third season appeared in Warner Bros. Discovery’s August 2024 announcement of HBO’s planned 2025 programming. That supports describing it as part of the 2025 slate, but the cited announcement does not give a specific premiere day or further season details. No more precise timing is included here.

HBO describes IT: Welcome to Derry as an eight-episode HBO Original based on Stephen King’s novel It, set in the story’s universe and expanding the vision of the feature films. HBO’s property page lists its debut as Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO, with streaming on HBO Max.
If you want optional background before watching, King’s novel It is the source HBO names. Reading it is not a prerequisite established by HBO.
