For sincere vows, choose a brief romantic line; for a comic ceremony moment, borrow the spirit of the film’s deliberately chaotic wedding scene. The 1987 film, based on William Goldman’s 1973 novel, offers both tones—but film dialogue, novel wording and later adaptations should not be treated as interchangeable. Before printing or performing a line, verify its wording against a legitimate copy of the film or an authorized text.
Choose the right kind of “Princess Bride” moment

How to adapt the wedding scene without derailing the ceremony
American Marriage Ministries offers a free sample ceremony based on the Humperdinck-and-Buttercup wedding scene. Its example includes a ring exchange, an optional comic interruption and a recessional suggestion. Couples who adapt the scene should read the wording with their officiant and agree beforehand on the timing and delivery of any interruption. Credit the film accurately and check reuse plans
The AFI Catalog identifies The Princess Bride as a 1987 film based on William Goldman’s 1973 novel. When crediting a line, specify whether it comes from the film, the novel or an adaptation, and verify its wording before printing it in a program, reading it aloud or posting it online.

Make the soundtrack a separate decision
AFI credits “Storybook Love” to Willy DeVille and identifies Mark Knopfler as arranger; American Marriage Ministries suggests the song for a recessional. Check the venue’s requirements for performance and playback separately from the question of using dialogue. A suggested song choice does not establish that a particular performance or recording is cleared for your event.
