Succession won Outstanding Drama Series, The Bear won Outstanding Comedy Series and Beef won Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Australian actor Sarah Snook won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for playing Shiv Roy in Succession.
Why are they called the 2024 Emmys?
The ceremony was the 75th edition of the Primetime Emmy Awards. It recognized television from the 2022–23 season, but the Hollywood labor strikes delayed the ceremony by four months, moving it to Monday, January 15, 2024, in Los Angeles. That distinction explains why the event may be described as the 2023 Emmys in some season-based references even though the ceremony itself happened in 2024. Australian coverage appeared on January 16 because of the time difference. The Associated Press recap reported the delay and event context.
