This selection highlights 20 notable beers that won gold medals in their categories at the 2025 Washington Beer Awards. It is an award-based guide across styles—not a definitive statewide ranking or a claim that every Washington beer was judged.
How this list was selected
The 2025 Washington Beer Awards reported 1,095 beers from 155 Washington breweries across 67 categories. The 20 beers below each earned category gold; they are grouped by style for easier browsing, not ranked against one another. The awards reflect entries submitted to the competition, not every beer brewed in Washington. As Kendall Jones noted in a November 4, 2025 report, “The judges can only evaluate beers submitted to the competition.” Washington Beer Blog covered the results.

The competition reported 1,498 beers from 270 breweries across 51 style categories. Those figures and medalists were reported by Washington Beer Blog on April 15, 2026. The results supply fresh alternatives, not a ranking of all Washington beers. The official Best of Craft Beer Awards medalist table also lists multiple competition years, so check the year and category when comparing a result.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to choose—and where to look
- Start with style. Narrow the field to a broad type you enjoy—such as lager, pilsner, IPA, porter or stout—then compare the listed competition categories.
- Use medals as a guide, not a guarantee. A category gold shows how an entry performed among beers submitted and judged in that competition. It does not establish universal preference or a comparable score across styles.
- Check current availability directly. Award results do not confirm that a beer is still being brewed or stocked. Ask the brewery or a local retailer before making a trip or seeking out a particular release.
The award information does not provide a consistent tasting profile for all 20 beers, so this guide does not assign flavor notes to individual products. Nor does it establish a live directory of shops carrying them. Brewery and retailer stock can change.
