Jacob Dutton and his party survive a blizzard on their journey back to the ranch in 1923 Season 2, Episode 2, “The Rapist Is Winter.” Alexandra’s New York story comes in the next episode, “Wrap Thee in Terror,” so the title’s two dangers unfold across consecutive episodes—not in one.
What happens in “The Rapist Is Winter”?
Jacob and the men traveling with him are caught in a blizzard while making their way back to the ranch. They survive the storm, but the episode makes clear that winter is a threat to the Duttons well beyond the weather: an explainer also highlights a wolf attack on Elizabeth as part of the dangers facing the family in Montana. The available episode accounts support that broad outline, rather than a more detailed blow-by-blow of the storm.
Did Jacob survive the blizzard?
Yes. Jacob and his group make it through the blizzard. The episode’s title, “The Rapist Is Winter,” frames the storm as an adversary, but the key outcome is survival—not a permanent loss of the party in the snow.
What happens to Alex in New York?
Alexandra’s arrival in New York City is placed in Season 2, Episode 3, “Wrap Thee in Terror.” That is the next step in her storyline after the blizzard episode. The episode material available here establishes her arrival and the change of setting, but does not substantiate further details about what she faces there. In particular, the title’s suggestion that New York is “far worse” should not be mistaken for a specific event confirmed by the episode accounts.
