Howard Stern’s universe is not one cast list: it includes on-air partners and staff, as well as Wack Pack personalities whose recurring appearances became part of the show’s identity. This selection of 16 people brings those roles together without treating them as interchangeable or claiming to be a definitive roster. The show’s February 24, 2015 Wack Pack list is a useful dated reference, not a permanent census.

How to read this selection

The names below cover two different kinds of connection. Robin Quivers and several longtime colleagues belonged to the show’s regular cast; Wack Packers were distinct personalities who appeared in recurring bits, calls, interviews, or other segments. A 2003 reference entry describes the broader historical cast, while the show’s official 2015 list identifies who it classified as Wack Pack at that time. The selection here is editorial, not an official ranking or complete membership list.

Regular cast and collaborators

1. Howard Stern

The host at the center of the show’s universe. His recollections and on-air interactions provide much of the context for how recurring personalities became associated with the program.

2. Robin Quivers

Quivers is described in the 2003 Encyclopedia of American Television entry as a newswoman who became Stern’s on-air partner and part of the regular cast. Her place is different from that of a Wack Packer: she was a central show collaborator, not a personality on the dated Wack Pack roster. In a 2018 retrospective, Quivers said Hank’s name still came up when people discussed the greatest Wack Packer.

#1 Best Overall

3. Fred Norris

The 2003 reference entry includes Norris among the show’s regular cast. That is a historical description, not a claim about the program’s current lineup.

4. Gary Dell’Abate

Dell’Abate is identified in the 2017 show retrospective as executive producer. His recollection also anchors the story of Beetlejuice’s arrival: he remembered the date as July 14, 1999, when a group of little-person entertainers came to the studio and Howard’s attention turned to Lester Green.

5. Jackie Martling

Martling appears in the 2003 reference entry as part of the broader regular cast. Like Norris and Dell’Abate, his place in the show’s history is distinct from Wack Pack membership.

6. Stuttering John

The 2003 reference also names Stuttering John as a regular cast member. The entry provides historical context for the wider ensemble rather than a current staff list.

Rank #3

Wack Pack personalities and recurring figures

7. Crackhead Bob (George Harvey)

The Howard Stern Show’s 2016 obituary identifies him as George “Crackhead Bob” Harvey and reports that he died at 56. It says staff came to know him through Stern public appearances and that Dell’Abate brought him to the studio on the day Stern’s Miss America was released in 1995. The retrospective describes appearances in several capacities between 1995 and 2001: singing cover songs, taking part in phone bits, helping interview Chris Rock, and auditioning for Tommy Chong.

The same obituary quotes Stern describing Bob as “a huge champion of our show.” A 2005 show rundown offers Bob’s own explanation for stepping back: he said time away had been best for him, and described his sponsor’s recommendation that he take a break from dropping by. Those are accounts attributed to Bob and the show, not a basis for generalizing about his health or substance use.

8. Beetlejuice (Lester Green)

The show’s 2017 retrospective dates Green’s discovery at the studio to July 14, 1999. Executive producer Gary Dell’Abate recalled that a man named Sean brought a group of entertainers to the studio and that Stern focused on Green. Beetlejuice appears on the show’s 2015 official Wack Pack list.

A 2022 official show report describes a later studio appearance and quotes Beetlejuice saying, “I don’t have to explain nothing to y’all motherfuckers.” The remark is a glimpse of his on-air voice, not a measure of his standing against other personalities.

9. Hank the Angry Drunken Dwarf

In a 2018 retrospective, Howard Stern recalled meeting Hank in 1996, when Hank arrived at the station. Quivers described his lasting recognition this way: “Whenever there’s a question as to who was the greatest Wack Packer, Hank’s name always comes up. People still remember.” That is Quivers’s assessment, not an objective ranking. Hank is also named on the 2015 official roster.

10. Nicole Bass

The show’s 2017 retrospective describes Bass as a Wack Pack veteran and bodybuilding champion, and notes her cameo in Private Parts (1997). It also recalls an invasive examination segment involving Quivers. That episode is relevant as an example of how the show treated Bass on air, not as neutral biographical detail; it should not be used to speculate about her sex or identity.

11. Beetlejuice’s studio-era peers

The 2017 retrospective says Sean brought a group of little-person entertainers to the studio on the date associated with Beetlejuice’s discovery. The available account does not name each person in that group, so they cannot responsibly be counted here as separate individuals.

Why the roster depends on the date and definition

The 2015 official Wack Pack list names Crackhead Bob, Beetlejuice, Hank, Nicole Bass, and other personalities, while separately marking some show-associated people as not Wack Pack material. That distinction matters: appearing on the show did not automatically make someone a Wack Packer, and staff or co-hosts should not be folded into the category. Because the available dated roster is from 2015, it establishes the show’s classification then—not a permanent or universally accepted list.

The sources support six named members of the broader historic cast and four named Wack Pack figures in this selection. They do not support inventing the remaining names in a purported sixteen-person list; in particular, the roster headline alone is not enough to establish the identities or roles of fourteen additional people. For clarity, this article presents only the people its sources identify and explains the limit rather than padding the count.
