“Played by twins” can mean more than two siblings alternating in one role. Screen productions have also used twins for matching shots, doubles, and characters at different ages—and several examples in this list involve triplets, not twins. Fame10’s 2017 roundup supplies the reported examples below; its page lists 17, so this feature selects 15 and labels the different kinds of casting rather than treating them as identical.
Twins and triplets sharing infant and child roles
Very young performers may be difficult to film for long stretches, so productions sometimes share a role among siblings. The examples below are reported by Fame10; the article does not establish that every casting decision had the same reason.

3. Baby Harry — Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
Fame10 identifies the performers as the Saunders triplets. This is a triplet casting, not a pair of twins.
4. Little Ricky — I Love Lucy
Joe and Mike Mayer reportedly shared the role of Ricky Ricardo Jr., known as Little Ricky.
5. Abel Teller — Sons of Anarchy
Evan and Ryder Londo reportedly played Jax Teller’s young son, Abel.

6. Julian — Big Daddy
Twin brothers Cole and Dylan Sprouse shared the role of Julian, the boy adopted by Adam Sandler’s character.
7. Mary — Three Men and a Baby
Michelle and Lisa Blair reportedly shared the role of baby Mary. Fame10 quotes their mother, Geriann Blair, describing how she found the casting call: “I was just bored at home on [maternity] leave, and I heard about this casting call. I thought it was just a scene in a movie.” The quote is reproduced as Fame10 presented it.
8. Tommy Fuller Jr. — Fuller House
Twin brothers Dashiell and Fox Messitt reportedly played baby Tommy, the youngest Fuller child.

9. Carrie Ingalls — Little House on the Prairie
Lindsay and Sidney Greenbush, twin sisters, reportedly shared the role of Carrie Ingalls.
10. Sly and Wit — Baby Geniuses
Myles, Leo, and Gerry Fitzgerald reportedly played the characters Sly and Wit. They were triplets, not twins; Fame10 includes them among its examples of multiples in screen roles.

In these cases, one sibling reportedly doubled for the other or helped create a matching image. That is different from both twins sharing the role throughout a production.

11. Sarah Connor — Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Linda Hamilton played Sarah Connor, while her identical twin sister Leslie Hamilton reportedly appeared as a double in scenes requiring two Sarahs to appear together or be seen in a reflection.
12. Xander Harris — Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Nicholas Brendon played Xander; his twin brother Kelly Donovan reportedly served as his double in some scenes.
13. Court Foster — The Man in the Moon
Jason Landon played Court Foster, and his twin brother Jeremy Landon reportedly served as his stunt double. The distinction matters: the report describes a stunt-double contribution, not two brothers alternating in the role.

Twins or siblings in unusual casting arrangements
14. The ticket girl — The Twilight Zone, “A Passage for Trumpet”
Fame10 reports that twins played the ticket girl in the episode, but does not name the performers. The available account therefore supports the reported casting, not an identification of the twins.
15. Claire Kincaid — Law & Order
Jill Hennessy played assistant district attorney Claire Kincaid. Fame10 reports that her twin sister, Jaqueline Hennessy, appeared in some courtroom scenes. That is a reported double or matching-shot use, not evidence that the sisters jointly held the role across the series.
Two often-confused examples—and what the source establishes
The two examples below are not included in the 15 above because their descriptions do not fit a straightforward case of twins sharing the same screen role.
Lily Tucker-Pritchett — Modern Family
Fame10 reports that twins Jaden and Ella Hiller played Lily before Aubrey Anderson-Emmons took over. ABC’s official character page confirms that Anderson-Emmons played Lily, but it does not document the earlier casting of the Hiller twins: ABC’s Lily character page. The early-season twin casting is therefore supported here by Fame10’s account, not the ABC page.

Sophia Burset — Orange Is the New Black
Laverne Cox played Sophia. Fame10 says Cox’s brother, M. Lamar, portrayed Sophia before transition in flashback scenes. This is casting of siblings for different presentations of a character, not twin casting; the roundup does not identify them as twins.
Why the label “played by twins” needs care
- Shared role: siblings alternate as the same character, often in infant or child roles.
- Double or matching shot: a twin stands in for a performer or makes it possible to show two versions of one character together.
- Stunt work: a sibling performs action or stunt work as a double; this does not mean both siblings played the role equally.
- Different life stage or presentation: related performers portray the same character in distinct circumstances, which is not necessarily twin casting.
- Multiples beyond twins: triplets, such as the Fitzgerald brothers and the Saunders performers, should be identified as triplets rather than described as twins.
The cited roundup is a secondary source published November 28, 2017, and its URL contains “12” even though its displayed article and body enumerate 17 entries. The 15 examples above are a selected set, not a claim that the source itself contains exactly 15. Read Fame10’s roundup.
