15 Former WWE Names Connected to “The Other Industry”—What the Evidence Shows

Only Chyna and Sunny are clear professional adult-film cases. This carefully framed list separates explicit subscriptions, Playboy modeling, glamour work, platform associations, and claims that remain unverified.

Only two names here clearly fit the traditional definition of former WWE personalities who entered professional adult film: Chyna and Tammy “Sunny” Sytch. The wider group includes Mandy Rose’s documented explicit subscription content, Playboy models such as Sable and Torrie Wilson, and several borderline or weakly supported cases that should not be described as porn careers without qualification.

Short answer: only two names on a broad former-WWE list are clear traditional adult-film cases: Chyna and Tammy “Sunny” Sytch. Mandy Rose is a documented example of explicit subscription content, while Zelina Vega is associated with erotic subscription material that was not established as pornography. Several other names crossed into Playboy, glamour modeling, or men’s-magazine work. A few commonly repeated names do not have enough evidence to support the stronger claim that they became pornographic performers.

That distinction matters. Playboy modeling, a nude magazine appearance, an OnlyFans page, FanTime content, and professional adult-film work are different kinds of careers. Treating them as interchangeable turns a potentially interesting piece of WWE history into an inaccurate listicle.

Scope: “The other industry” is used here as a broad reference to adult entertainment and erotic media. The list includes former WWE performers, WWE-associated personalities, and one Diva Search participant where the evidence supports a connection to that wider category. It does not claim that all 15 became porn stars, or that every platform account contained sexual material.

At a glance: 15 very different kinds of crossover

Name Category What the evidence supports
Chyna Professional adult film Adult-video release and later professional adult-film work.
Tammy “Sunny” Sytch Professional adult film Reportedly signed with Vivid for an adult-film project.
Mandy Rose Explicit subscription content VICE reported explicit material on her FanTime account.
Zelina Vega Erotic subscription content OnlyFans material involving cosplay, lingerie, and swimsuits; not established as pornography.
Lio Rush Platform association Reportedly created an OnlyFans page, but the available evidence does not establish pornographic content.
Enzo Amore Non-adult subscription use Used OnlyFans to sell wrestling lessons and related material.
Sable Playboy and erotic modeling Playboy covers and a prominent WWE career.
Torrie Wilson Playboy and glamour modeling Playboy and FHM cover appearances.
Candice Michelle Playboy modeling Playboy cover appearance referenced by WWE.
Christy Hemme Borderline glamour-media inclusion WWE status is confirmed; the supplied evidence does not establish a professional porn career.
Taryn Terrell Nude-magazine association Secondary reference material connects her with nude magazine work; the publication and chronology require verification.
Maryse Ouellet Playboy modeling Secondary material places her in Playboy, possibly before or around her WWE period.
Rebecca DiPietro Playboy modeling Playboy work preceded her 2006–2007 WWE run.
Carmella DeCesare Playboy and Diva Search Playboy appearance followed by participation in the 2004 WWE Diva Search; not a long WWE wrestling career.
Maria Kanellis-Bennett Unconfirmed inclusion WWE association is well known, but the supplied evidence does not adequately establish a separate adult-industry career.

The two clearest professional adult-film cases

1. Chyna — Joanie Laurer

Chyna is the strongest headline example because her post-WWE career included both an adult-video release in 2004 and later professional adult-film work. The broad outline is well established, although accounts differ over the circumstances surrounding the first release, including questions about consent and distribution. Those circumstances should not be reduced to a casual one-line claim.

Her WWE credentials are not in doubt. WWE’s official Chyna biography identifies her as a former Women’s Champion and Intercontinental Champion, and notes her Royal Rumble and King of the Ring appearances as well as her 2019 WWE Hall of Fame induction. In other words, this was not an obscure wrestler later mentioned in adult-media coverage; Chyna was one of the most visible women in the company’s history.

For accuracy, describe Chyna as a former WWE star who later did professional adult-film work. Do not imply that every piece of adult material associated with her was produced under identical circumstances, and do not use her case to generalize about the other women on this list.

2. Tammy “Sunny” Sytch

Tammy Sytch, better known to wrestling fans as Sunny, represents a more straightforward post-WWE adult-film example. In 2016, TMZ reported that the former WWE personality had signed with Vivid for an adult-film project.

That is materially different from saying that Sunny merely posed for a men’s magazine or opened a subscription account. The reporting concerned a professional adult-film deal. It also should not be confused with the Sunny character’s wrestling-era image: her WWE fame came primarily from managing and appearing alongside wrestlers, not from an adult-film career during her time in the company.

Subscription platforms changed the boundary

OnlyFans, FanTime, and similar services made the phrase “entered the other industry” harder to define. These platforms can host explicit sexual material, lingerie and glamour content, fitness instruction, wrestling lessons, cosplay, or ordinary behind-the-scenes posts. A platform name alone is not proof of pornography.

3. Mandy Rose — Amanda Saccomanno

Mandy Rose is the clearest subscription-platform case in the group after Chyna and Sunny. VICE reported that the former NXT Women’s Champion operated a FanTime account containing explicit adult content while she was working for WWE.

The most precise description is explicit subscription content. Calling Rose a traditional pornographic-film performer would go beyond the evidence supplied here. Her case is important because it shows how the modern creator economy differs from the older Playboy and adult-film routes: a performer can sell direct-to-fan content without entering the conventional studio system.

4. Zelina Vega — Thea Trinidad

VICE also reported that Zelina Vega opened an OnlyFans account featuring cosplay, lingerie, and swimsuit material. That supports a description such as erotic or glamour subscription content, not a claim that Vega became a professional porn performer.

The distinction is especially important with OnlyFans. The service is not exclusively adult, and a page containing suggestive modeling or cosplay is not automatically equivalent to an adult-film career. Account contents, business arrangements, and availability can change, so present-tense claims about any subscription page should be checked immediately before publication.

5. Lio Rush — Lionel Green

WrestleTalk reported that former WWE wrestler Lio Rush created an OnlyFans page. The available report did not establish that Rush produced pornography.

Rush therefore belongs in a section about the expansion of subscription platforms, not in a list headed “WWE wrestlers who became porn stars.” Including the name can be useful only when the article makes clear that the evidence establishes a platform presence, not the nature of all content posted there.

6. Enzo Amore — nZo

Enzo Amore is the cautionary example that prevents the list from becoming too sensational. According to the same WrestleTalk report, he used OnlyFans to sell wrestling lessons and similar material.

That is a commercial use of an adult-content platform, but the cited evidence does not make it an adult-entertainment career. Enzo can be mentioned when explaining why “has an OnlyFans” is not a reliable synonym for “entered pornography.” Under a strict definition of the topic, he would not belong on the list at all.

Playboy was the earlier WWE crossover route

Before subscription platforms became common, Playboy and other men’s magazines were the most visible way for WWE women to move into erotic modeling. WWE itself often incorporated those appearances into storylines, promotional campaigns, and the broader “Diva” branding. That history is adult-oriented, but it is not the same as professional pornography.

7. Sable — Rena Lesnar

Sable is one of the best-known WWE–Playboy crossovers. WWE’s official Sable biography identifies her as a former Women’s Champion and notes her Playboy visibility.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Her correct classification is Playboy model and adult-media personality, not pornographic-film performer. Sable’s significance comes from the way her mainstream wrestling fame and Playboy profile reinforced each other during the late-1990s wrestling boom.

8. Torrie Wilson

Torrie Wilson also followed the glamour-modeling route. WWE’s retrospective on its most impactful women notes Wilson’s appearances on Playboy covers, as well as her FHM cover work. The relevant description is erotic modeling and men’s-magazine work.

That distinction does not minimize the commercial or cultural importance of the work. It simply identifies the medium accurately: Wilson was not documented here as entering the professional adult-film business.

9. Candice Michelle

Candice Michelle’s Playboy connection was prominent enough to become part of WWE storytelling. WWE’s WrestleMania coverage directly refers to her Playboy cover and the related storyline.

Michelle belongs in the Playboy and erotic-modeling category. A Playboy cover is not evidence of a pornographic-film career, and describing it that way collapses two different parts of the adult-media market.

10. Christy Hemme

Christy Hemme is a borderline inclusion in a list this broad. WWE’s official biography confirms that she won the 2004 Raw Diva Search and received a WWE contract.

Her name is often grouped with WWE-era glamour and erotic modeling, but the supplied evidence independently confirms the WWE side rather than establishing a professional pornography career. She can appear in an article about the wider glamour-media ecosystem surrounding WWE’s Divas, but she should not be presented as one of the two or three clear adult-film cases.

Names that require a chronology disclaimer

Some people on lists like this did not move from WWE into adult media after leaving the company. Their modeling work came before WWE, overlapped with it, or was connected to WWE through a tryout or search rather than a substantial wrestling career. The chronology is part of the fact.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

11. Taryn Terrell — Tiffany

Secondary reference material about women in WWE places Taryn Terrell, who wrestled in WWE as Tiffany, among women associated with nude magazine work. The available source does not provide enough detail here to confidently state the exact publication, date, or nature of every appearance.

Accordingly, Terrell should be described as having a reported nude-magazine association, subject to verification, rather than as a pornographic performer. A final publication should confirm the specific magazine and establish whether the work preceded, followed, or overlapped with her WWE run.

12. Maryse Ouellet

Secondary wrestling coverage, including a Bleacher Report ranking of WWE Diva Playboy pictorials, places Maryse among WWE-associated women who posed for Playboy.

The chronology needs care. The Playboy appearance may have preceded or overlapped with her WWE career rather than representing a career change after WWE. The accurate framing is that Maryse moved between or appeared in both WWE and Playboy-related media, not that she necessarily left WWE to become a Playboy model.

13. Rebecca DiPietro

Rebecca DiPietro is documented as a former WWE Diva and Playboy model. Her Playboy appearances predated her 2006–2007 WWE run, according to the available biographical reference material.

That makes her a crossover figure, but not a post-WWE entrant into adult entertainment. She is best included to show how Playboy experience could precede a WWE opportunity, especially during the period when the company actively recruited models and television personalities for its Diva Search and related programming.

14. Carmella DeCesare

Carmella DeCesare appeared in Playboy and later participated in the 2004 WWE Diva Search. The supplied evidence supports calling her a WWE Diva Search participant, not automatically a former WWE wrestling star.

That label is more precise because a search appearance and a short association with WWE are not the same as a long in-ring career. Her story belongs in a history of the recruitment pipeline linking modeling, reality-style competitions, and WWE entertainment.

15. Maria Kanellis-Bennett — an inclusion that should be treated as unconfirmed

Maria Kanellis-Bennett is widely known for her WWE career and media presence, but the supplied research does not adequately establish a separate adult-industry career or a specific adult-media project that can be cited confidently here.

She is therefore included only as a warning about how broad online lists are assembled. Unless a final editor verifies a precise publication, project, date, and relationship to her WWE work, Maria should be removed from any definitive list of former WWE stars who entered adult entertainment. Her WWE identity alone is not evidence of an adult-media crossover.

Who should not be added just to make the list more sensational?

  • Val Venis: the character was presented as a former adult-film star, but that was a wrestling gimmick. Available reporting distinguishes the character from Sean Morley’s real-life career. Do not call Morley a real-life porn star based on the storyline.
  • People connected only to alleged leaks: a leaked or private video does not establish a consensual, professional adult-film career. It can also wrongly turn a privacy violation into a career label.
  • Anyone who appeared in a swimsuit shoot: swimsuit modeling is not automatically erotic modeling, and erotic modeling is not automatically pornography.
  • Anyone with an OnlyFans account: the platform hosts many types of content. Verify what was actually reported rather than inferring it from the platform name.
  • Anyone whose adult-media work predates WWE: say so. “Former WWE star who entered adult entertainment after wrestling” and “model who later appeared in WWE” are different stories.

What this list really says about WWE history

The crossover was not one career path. During the Attitude Era and the early “Diva” years, Playboy and men’s magazines provided the most visible bridge between wrestling fame and erotic media. WWE sometimes promoted that connection directly, as its coverage of Sable, Torrie Wilson, and Candice Michelle demonstrates.

Later, subscription platforms changed the economics and the vocabulary. A performer could sell directly to fans, publish explicit material, offer glamour photography, or sell entirely nonsexual services through a platform that the public often associates with adult content. Mandy Rose, Zelina Vega, Lio Rush, and Enzo Amore illustrate four different points on that spectrum.

Chyna and Sunny remain the clearest examples of a move into conventional adult-film production. Playboy figures such as Sable, Wilson, Michelle, Maryse, and DiPietro belong to a different category. The remaining names require either a narrower description, a chronology note, or additional verification.

For more WWE history

Readers who want context beyond the most sensational headlines may find a WWE encyclopedia or comparable wrestling-history reference useful for checking eras, ring names, title histories, and the difference between a contracted performer, a Diva Search participant, and a personality associated with WWE. Use a reference book for the wrestling chronology; it should not be treated as proof of adult-media claims unless those claims are separately sourced.

Any commercial availability, price, edition, or geographic access for books and documentary media should be checked at publication time. The same applies even more strongly to FanTime and OnlyFans pages: account status and content can change, and this article makes no claim that any account mentioned remains active.

Frequently Asked Questions

Did all 15 former WWE names become porn stars?

Was Val Venis a real-life porn star?

No. Val Venis was an adult-film-star character played by Sean Morley. The gimmick should not be presented as proof that Morley worked as a pornographic performer in real life.

Does having an OnlyFans account mean someone entered the adult-entertainment industry?

No. OnlyFans and similar platforms host many kinds of content, including instruction, cosplay, fitness, glamour photography, and sexually explicit material. The platform name alone does not establish what a creator produced.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Chyna and Sunny are the two defensible traditional adult-film examples. Mandy Rose is the clearest explicit-subscription case; Zelina Vega represents erotic subscription content; and the Playboy names belong to glamour and erotic modeling. Lio Rush and Enzo Amore show why a platform association proves little by itself, while Christy Hemme, Taryn Terrell, and Maria Kanellis-Bennett require especially cautious wording or further verification.
