Those are not always the same. This list uses the phrase for entertainers professionally known by a birth name or a close, transparently described form of it; it distinguishes shortened or modified names from exact matches. The available sources here do not verify 15 individual birth-name matches, so presenting a 15-person roster as fact would be misleading.
Why “real name” needs a definition
A professional name can match someone’s birth name, use only part of it, or combine family names. Some lists also include people who legally changed their names. These categories should not be treated as interchangeable: Kprofiles, for example, says its K-pop list counts legally changed names in its “real names” category (K-Pop Groups Where All Members Use Their Real Names).

What the available examples establish
Names reported as different from the professional name
Global News identifies Steven Tyler’s real name as Steven Victor Tallarico and Alicia Keys’ as Alicia Augello Cook. They illustrate why a familiar public name should not be assumed to be a birth name (Global News’ examples of celebrities’ real names).
A professional name can combine family names
Parade describes Reese Witherspoon’s professional name as combining her father’s surname with her mother’s maiden name. That is a derived form, not a straightforward example of a name unchanged from birth (Parade’s account of celebrities’ real names).

An official biography may not verify a birth-name match
Josh Groban’s official biography presents him as a singer, songwriter, and actor under the name Josh Groban, but it does not establish whether that is his complete birth or legal name (Josh Groban’s official biography). An official profile confirms how someone is publicly identified; it does not necessarily disclose the name they were given at birth.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why a verified list of 15 is not established here
The cited material provides examples and a broad definition, but not a reliable, individually verified roster of 15 entertainers whose professional names match their birth names. Kprofiles’ ongoing list can help identify K-pop candidates, but its stated definition includes legally changed names and the page alone does not independently verify every member’s full birth or legal name. A defensible 15-person list would require checking each individual against a primary biography, official profile, or high-quality reporting, then labeling exact matches and modified names separately.
