‘14th’ leads with six nominations
‘14th’ has the broadest spread of recognition among the three leading films. In addition to the feature race, the film is represented in directing, editing, music, political documentary and historical documentary.
- Best Documentary Feature
- Best Director — Ava DuVernay
- Best Editing — Spencer Averick
- Best Music Score — Jason Moran
- Best Political Documentary
- Best Historical Documentary
The combination of craft categories and subject-focused awards gives ‘14th’ six separate paths to a win. It is the only one of the three leaders nominated for Best Political Documentary, and it shares the historical-documentary field with ‘Once Upon a Time in Harlem.’
#1 Best Overall
‘You Can See Everything’ earns five nominations
‘You Can See Everything’ is nominated in five categories, with its recognition concentrated on filmmaking craft around the feature nomination.
- Best Documentary Feature
- Best Director — Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim
- Best Cinematography — David Bolen
- Best Editing — Adam Locke-Norton
- Best Music Score — Ari Balouzian
The film is the only one of the three leaders cited for Best Cinematography. Its other nominations cover directing, editing and score, creating a craft-heavy profile rather than a subject-category profile.

‘Once Upon a Time in Harlem’ also received five nominations, but its category mix differs from the other two films.
- Best Documentary Feature
- Best First Documentary Feature — David Greaves

When and where the 2026 ceremony is scheduled
The winners are scheduled to be announced at a gala on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at The Edison Ballroom in Manhattan. The Critics Choice Association says the ceremony is scheduled to stream at 7:00 p.m. ET on YouTube, X, Facebook and CriticsChoice.com.
Because the event is still scheduled rather than completed, the start time, stream availability and platform access should be checked again close to November 8. A 7:00 p.m. ET start is 4:00 p.m. PT and midnight GMT on the same date, subject to any later schedule change.

Where the nominated films are listed for release
The official nomination materials attach Netflix to ‘14th,’ A24 to ‘You Can See Everything’ and Neon to ‘Once Upon a Time in Harlem.’ Those associations identify the companies named with the films in the awards announcement; they do not guarantee that every title is streaming in every country or on the same date.
Availability can change by territory and over time. Viewers should use the distributor’s current official listings or a verified local partner page to confirm whether a film is available to stream, rent, buy or see theatrically in their region. No single worldwide viewing option has been established for all three films.

Why the nominations matter
The three-way feature race gives each leading film a different awards narrative. ‘14th’ has the highest nomination total and reaches both craft and political or historical categories. ‘You Can See Everything’ pairs its feature bid with directing, cinematography, editing and score nominations. ‘Once Upon a Time in Harlem’ adds first-feature, historical and archival recognition to its feature placement.
The Critics Choice Association states that, historically, the Critics Choice Awards are the most accurate predictor of Academy Award nominations. That is a claim about the organization’s historical assessment, not a guarantee that any 2026 nominee will receive an Oscar nomination.
