How much weight has Tammy Slaton lost?
In a report published January 6, 2026, Parade said Slaton stated on the Season 8 premiere that she had lost about 560 pounds and weighed roughly 180 pounds. Those are figures reported from her statements on the episode, not a medical record. Read Parade’s January 6, 2026 report.
Earlier figures describe different points in her journey. Women’s Health reported in January 2025 that Slaton weighed 281 pounds at a November 2024 episode weigh-in. The same article relayed a previously reported highest weight of 725 pounds, attributing that figure to People’s reporting. How did Tammy Slaton lose weight?
Bariatric surgery and rehabilitation
Women’s Health reported that Slaton underwent bariatric surgery in July 2022 and later entered weight-loss rehabilitation. Its January 2025 recap also recounts her statements about a serious health episode before surgery and subsequent changes in mobility and quality of life. Those comments describe her personal experience; they are not a clinical assessment or evidence that the same course will work for someone else.

Skin-removal surgery
TLC’s official journey page says Slaton met with doctors about skin removal, was told to quit nicotine, and was approved for the operation after a weigh-in below 226 pounds. TLC says she underwent the procedure and describes her recovery and life changes. This is the show’s account, not an independently verified medical record. Why the reported numbers differ
The figures mark distinct dates and types of information: a previously reported highest weight, an on-camera weigh-in in November 2024, a TLC-reported pre-surgery weigh-in, and Slaton’s reported statement on a January 2026 episode. They come from different sources and should not be treated as measurements taken under one consistent process. The available accounts establish public milestones in her television journey, not a verified medical timeline.
