“100 People Who Are Changing the World in 2025” is a dated editorial selection by Matthew Lynch, published by The Tech Edvocate on March 14, 2025. It spans ten fields, from politics and science to arts and humanitarian work, but it is not a live ranking or an independently audited measure of influence. The article contains 100 entries, not necessarily 100 distinct people: some names appear in more than one section.
What the 2025 list is—and what it is not
Matthew Lynch’s article presents people in ten broad fields and gives each a short description of their role or impact. Its headline count refers to the entries in the list; because names recur across categories, it should not be read as a count of 100 unique individuals.
The article does not set out a consistent scoring method for comparing influence across, for example, political leadership, scientific work, art, and community service. It is best understood as an editorial selection, not a definitive ranking or a verified assessment of each person’s results. Its publication date also does not establish that every role or circumstance described remains current.

How to read the entries
The brief descriptions offer a starting point for discovering people and fields, but they do not provide a shared basis for judging impact. The article does not establish a common time period, geographic scope, or outcome measure that would make its different categories directly comparable.
Rank #2
For a documentary viewer using the list to choose a subject, it helps to separate the selection itself from the evidence about a person’s work. Consider what specific action, project, or outcome a description points to, and look for reliable, current documentation before treating a short summary as a complete account. For a fair comparison between people, apply the same criteria across them—such as field, geographic reach, evidence of outcomes, and period under consideration—rather than assuming the article has ranked them by a single standard.

The article can show which people Matthew Lynch chose to highlight across a wide range of fields in March 2025. It does not, on its own, establish that the selection is representative, that each biographical detail is independently verified, or that every entry describes a current role. Some humanitarian workers are identified only by first name or role, which also limits how specifically those entries can be assessed from the article alone.
Rank #3
Use it as a snapshot of one editor’s choices, not as a final answer to who is changing the world. The descriptions are short, and the article supplies no consistent measurement framework or attributable statistic for validating or ranking the people it names.
