This list is an editorial assessment based on the official character profiles: it weighs demonstrated combat, range and versatility, close-quarters ability, and tower standing. It covers manga material only where the cited profiles support it; it does not claim to verify every feat through the latest chapter. Expect spoilers for the character profiles and the battle descriptions summarized below.
How this ranking works
The Magia Vander provide the clearest reference point: the official profiles identify them as the elite mages and describe their roles and specialties. A profile can establish a character’s position or ability, but it cannot prove who would win a direct fight. The order below is therefore a reasoned ranking, not an official power chart. The official character profiles are the basis for the descriptions.

- Combat performance against meaningful opponents carries the most weight when a profile describes a concrete feat.
- Versatility includes range, control, and the ability to fight at close quarters.
- Experience and stated standing—such as a Magia Vander role, tower career, or student rank—help distinguish candidates, but do not replace fight evidence.
10 strongest Wistoria characters, ranked
1. Aaron Masterias Oldeking
Aaron has the strongest profile-based case for the top spot. The official character page calls him the “strongest king” and leader of the Magia Vander, and identifies him as a light-magic user. It also describes him using a high-level area-clearing spell to eliminate monsters and rescue young mages during a return from a deep-dungeon expedition. That combination of leadership, formidable magic, and a substantial combat feat puts him first here, though it is not proof that he beats every other character in a direct matchup.
2. Elfaria Albis Serfort
Elfaria leads the ice faction among the Magia Vander and is described as the youngest person to hold that position. Her profile says she can use almost all water- and ice-attribute magic, giving her an unusually broad toolkit within her specialty. That range makes her a strong contender near the top; the profile does not establish how she would fare against Aaron or another Magia Vander.

#1 Best Overall
3. Zeo Thorzeus Reinbolt
Zeo oversees the lightning faction and is singled out in the official profile for overwhelming talent in actual combat. The profile also compares his approach to that of a swordsman, suggesting that close-range fighting is part of his appeal rather than a weakness of a ranged specialist. His placement reflects that unusually direct combat emphasis, alongside his Magia Vander standing.
4. Carriott Incindia Wiseman
Carriott leads the fire faction and serves as the Magia Vander representative when Aaron is absent. The profile describes him as composed and strategic. Those responsibilities and traits support a place among the strongest, but the available official description establishes his rank and role more clearly than it supplies a specific fight feat; fourth place is an inference, not a measured comparison.
Rank #2
5. Ellenor Ljos Alf
Ellenor is an elf princess selected as a Magia Vander for her exceptional magical power. That appointment puts her in the series’ established elite tier. The profile does not detail a matchup or a particular combat victory, so her exact position relative to the other Magia Vander remains especially uncertain.
6. Will Serfort
Will has no magic aptitude, but he is an exceptional swordsman in a world where magic defines the usual measure of power. His profile recounts a practical exercise in which he carried Sion’s magic on his blade and used it to cut down a powerful monster. That feat shows how he can combine swordsmanship with an ally’s magic; it does not make him a conventional mage or establish that he outranks the tower’s elite in a solo contest.

Rank #3
7. Edward Serfence
Edward is a skilled mage, an academy teacher, and a former tower climber. His official profile says he came closer to reaching the Magia Vander position than the other climbers it describes. That career makes him a credible veteran candidate, but the profile does not give a current fight feat that would justify placing him above the Magia Vander or Will’s documented battle utility.
8. Clairie Serah
Clairie is identified as a tower high mage, a neutral mediator, and a user of multiple attributes. Those details suggest both institutional standing and flexibility in magic. They are not a direct combat record, so this placement is provisional. The English spelling of her name can vary; check the licensed edition’s romanization when matching it to a particular release.
Rank #4
9. Lihanna Owenzaus
Lihanna is the academy’s top student, specializes in lightning magic, and is unusually capable in close combat. That blend makes her a more compelling combat candidate than grades alone would suggest. Still, student rank is not evidence of parity with the adult tower elite, and the official profile does not make that comparison.
10. Julius Reinberg
Julius is a top-three sixth-year student who learned powerful ice magic independently. His profile also describes him cooperating with Will and others in a major battle, providing evidence of talent and team utility. The available description does not establish that he surpasses the adult tower mages, so he rounds out this list as a promising student rather than a proven member of the highest tier.

Why the lower places are less certain
The profiles describe characters using different kinds of evidence. Aaron has a stated superlative and a concrete area-clearing feat; Lihanna has a student ranking and a close-combat specialty; Edward has a tower-climbing record. These are meaningful, but they are not interchangeable measures of strength. The official character page is a set of biographies, not a comprehensive fight log, and it does not provide statistics or head-to-head results for a definitive order.
The official Kodansha series page introduces the manga and lists collected volumes. A K MANGA listing for chapter 66(1) confirms that later chapter material is available, but the listing alone does not verify the events in that chapter or every feat after it. Readers comparing the ranking against the manga should use an explicit chapter cutoff and distinguish scenes they have checked from profile-based descriptions.
