She co-wrote records for TLC, Destiny’s Child and P!nk, among others. This list includes both original songwriting and two later credits tied to the reuse of earlier songs; not all ten tracks are independently established as chart hits by the sources cited here.
Original songs Burruss wrote or co-wrote
1. TLC — “No Scrubs” (1999)
“No Scrubs” is the signature example of Burruss’s songwriting, but it was a collaboration, not a solo composition. Glamour’s 2021 interview lists Burruss, producer Kevin “She’kspere” Briggs, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle and TLC member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes as songwriters.
Burruss recalled that she had kept “scrubs” among possible song titles, then began freestyling with a friend in a car. She wrote the verse, B section and hook on an envelope. The song spent four weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, according to Bravo’s 2019 account.
2. Destiny’s Child — “Bills, Bills, Bills” (1999)
Burruss co-wrote this Destiny’s Child single with Briggs and members of the group, as Glamour reports. Burruss drew on a past relationship for its complaints about a partner relying on someone else’s phone and car without pitching in for expenses. She told Glamour: “The part that was a clear inspiration—using my phone and pretending like he didn’t use it, driving my car and not putting any gas in it—that was real stuff that had happened to me!”

7. TLC — “Girl Talk”
Bravo lists “Girl Talk” among the TLC songs Burruss wrote and reports that it became the group’s twelfth Top 40 entry on Billboard. The track also appears among the featured songs on Burruss’s official portfolio.

9. Ed Sheeran — “Shape of You” (2017)
This is a songwriting connection through musical reuse, not a song Burruss originally wrote for Sheeran. Bravo reports that “Shape of You” sampled TLC’s “No Scrubs,” which led to Burruss receiving a writing credit on the later track. Glamour’s account of “No Scrubs” supplies the earlier song’s collaborative authorship context.

10. Ariana Grande — “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored” (2019)
Burruss’s credit on Ariana Grande’s song follows a different route: Bravo says it interpolates *NSYNC’s “It Makes Me Ill.” Burruss and Briggs co-wrote the earlier *NSYNC song, so the interpolation brought Burruss a writing credit on Grande’s later track. Bravo describes the Ariana song as a charting hit; it is not an original song Burruss wrote for Grande.
What these credits show
The list ranges from direct co-writing on late-1990s R&B singles to a vocal-production contribution on P!nk’s “There You Go” and later credits created when other artists reused earlier material. That distinction matters: a credit attached to a sampled or interpolated song is not the same as writing that song from scratch. The cited chart milestones are specific to “No Scrubs,” “Bug a Boo,” “Girl Talk,” “There You Go,” and the reported charting status of Grande’s track; the cited sources do not establish individual chart peaks for every Destiny’s Child catalog selection here.
