Kravitz’s 2024 psychological thriller follows Frida, a cocktail waitress invited to the private island of tech billionaire Slater King, where strange events unsettle her sense of what is happening. For more about that premise, see the Apple TV listing. The recommendations are grouped by what you might want more of—not presented as a list of films Kravitz cited as influences.
For satire of wealth and class
1. The Menu (2022)
A lavish dinner on a remote island becomes a pressure cooker in this dark satire of money, taste and the people who believe wealth entitles them to everything. Like Blink Twice, it uses an isolated luxury setting to expose the power imbalance between the people hosting and the people expected to serve. Vogue included it among the films that caricature the ultra-rich in its interview with Kravitz and Naomi Ackie.

2. Triangle of Sadness (2022)
Ruben Östlund’s class satire follows wealthy passengers and workers on a luxury yacht as social hierarchies are tested. Its contained setting and attention to who has power, who performs service and who gets to set the rules make it a natural next watch after Blink Twice. Vogue also names it as a comparison point for the film’s caricature of the ultra-rich.
3. Saltburn (2023)
Emerald Fennell’s unsettling drama draws viewers into an affluent world whose beauty and privilege conceal a more disturbing social order. It is a good match if what stayed with you in Blink Twice was the unease of entering a wealthy circle where the rules seem to belong to someone else. Vogue identifies Saltburn as another work that skewers the ultra-rich.

For psychological suspense and unreliable perceptions
4. Get Out (2017)
Jordan Peele’s thriller is the closest thematic bridge to Blink Twice: both build tension around oppression, betrayal and violence beneath an apparently welcoming social surface. Its focus on race gives that pressure a distinct context, while its escalating suspense makes it essential viewing for anyone drawn to the way Blink Twice turns politeness into a source of dread. Vogue explicitly evokes Get Out in discussing the film.
5. Ex Machina (2014)
Alex Garland’s science-fiction thriller confines its central encounters to a remote, controlled environment and makes uncertainty about perception and power part of the suspense. Watch it if you want another taut story in which a charismatic, wealthy man shapes the setting—and the terms on which other people are allowed to move through it. This is an editorial match for its controlled atmosphere and power dynamics, not a reported influence on Kravitz.

6. Infinity Pool (2023)
Brandon Cronenberg’s psychological horror film follows a couple at an exclusive resort, where privilege and transgression feed a disorienting descent. It is a harsher, more surreal pick for viewers who want the vacation setting to feel increasingly threatening and want a story that probes what wealth can let people get away with.

7. Ready or Not (2019)
A newly married woman is pulled into a deadly game by her affluent in-laws at their secluded estate. The film leans more toward dark comedy and survival horror than Blink Twice, but both pit a woman against a powerful group in a setting designed to keep outsiders at a disadvantage.
Rank #4
8. The Invitation (2015)
Karyn Kusama’s slow-burning thriller turns a dinner party into an exercise in social unease. Its appeal here is the gradual suspicion that a group’s welcoming surface may conceal coercion—an intimate, domestic counterpoint to Blink Twice’s island retreat.
9. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022)
Rian Johnson’s mystery strands a group of guests on a private island owned by a tech billionaire. It offers a more playful, puzzle-driven take on the rich, their entourages and the spectacle of billionaire power, making it a lighter option if you want the island-and-wealth setup without the same kind of psychological horror.
For stories about gender and control
10. The Stepford Wives (1975)
In this unsettling satire, a woman’s move to a seemingly ideal suburb leads her to question what lies behind its picture-perfect domestic life. Its focus on gender roles, conformity and control makes it a fitting older companion to Blink Twice for viewers most interested in how power can be disguised as comfort or normality.
