IMDb’s zombie-horror popularity chart places The Walking Dead first, followed by The Walking Dead: Dead City and The Last of Us. This is IMDb’s displayed popularity order—not a ranking by highest user rating. The chart and ratings below were checked on October 4, 2026, and can change.
How IMDb ranks these zombie TV shows
IMDb labels its list “100 most popular zombie horror TV shows.” The chart shows each title’s user rating and rating count, but its ordering is a popularity ranking; the displayed scores do not mean the shows are sorted from highest to lowest rated.
IMDb’s separate Top 250 TV chart uses a formula that accounts for both the number of ratings and ratings from regular users, alongside eligibility rules. That is a different chart and methodology. Here, the rank numbers below refer only to the zombie-horror popularity chart.
IMDb Help defines the zombie-horror category broadly: “The main character(s) are or fight zombies.” That allows for different settings and styles, not just conventional outbreak-survival stories. The rating counts and scores are approximate snapshots from IMDb on October 4, 2026; they are not permanent figures.

How to use the ranking
If you want the most visible titles by IMDb’s current chart, start at the top. If you want to compare audience ratings, look at the score and its rating count together: for example, The Last of Us and Ash vs Evil Dead both showed 8.4/10, but their displayed counts were about 751,000 and 87,000 respectively. Neither score nor count changes the chart’s stated basis: popularity.

The list also spans different kinds of zombie stories, from the sprawling Walking Dead franchise to period horror in Kingdom and horror-comedy in Ash vs Evil Dead. IMDb’s broader zombie-keyword search covers hundreds of TV entries and is not the same as this 100-title popularity chart, so the category and chart boundaries matter when comparing lists.
