Custom WWE action figures can range from a fully repainted wrestler to a one-off figure modeled after a fan or a character. But a reliable “top 10” needs more than striking photos: each item should be confirmed as a complete custom, credited to its maker, and shown with permission. The examples available here do not meet that standard, so this guide explains how to find and assess customs without presenting unverified images or accessories as finished figures.
Custom figures are not the same as official WWE releases
Mattel is WWE’s global master toy partner. WWE says the partnership began in 2010 on its Consumer Products page. Mattel’s current WWE collector catalog lists licensed Elite Collection and Ultimate Edition figures, including Elite examples such as Hulk Hogan, Rob Van Dam, Austin Theory, Bianca Belair, and Charlotte Flair, and Ultimate Edition examples such as Kane, Undertaker, and Cody Rhodes. These are official releases, not independent customs.
Mattel describes its Ultimate Edition figures as six inches tall, with 30+ points of articulation, swappable hands, and authentic ring gear. Those are catalog specifications, not an independent assessment of every figure or proof that parts from different releases fit together. A licensed figure can be a starting point for a custom, but check the exact model, scale, articulation, and compatibility before buying parts.
What counts as a custom WWE figure?
“Custom” can describe several different products. Marketplace search results may mix finished figures with replacement heads, belts, clothing, display stands, or digital files. A dramatic listing image does not establish that the complete figure is for sale—or even that the pictured item is included.

Etsy’s WWE custom figure results have included examples described as a Pentagon Jr “Zero Miedo” style custom and a Mysterio custom wrestling action figure, as well as parts and display items. Search results can change, and the category page alone does not verify a listing’s current status, contents, quality, or seller. Treat each product page—not the search label—as the source of truth.
How to assess a custom before you buy or commission one
- Confirm the deliverable. Read the description and inspect all photos to determine whether it is a complete figure, a part, a display accessory, or a digital item. Ask the seller if the listing does not say plainly.
- Check scale and compatibility. Ask which base figure or body the custom uses, its height or scale, what articulation remains, and whether the advertised parts fit your intended figure. Do not assume Elite and Ultimate Edition pieces interchange.
- Compare the likeness and attire. For a wrestler or personalized figure, look for clear views of the face, hair, clothing, logos, and accessories. Request additional angles or a progress photo if the listing does not show the details that matter to you.
- Review materials and finish. Confirm whether parts are painted, sculpted, printed, or fabric, and ask how the finish is protected if handling or posing could matter. Photos alone may not show paint texture or joint fit.
- Inspect the maker’s own work. Look for a portfolio of completed figures and consistent photos. Search placement or a high listing count is not proof of craftsmanship, and examples of past work do not guarantee commission availability.
- Get the transaction details in writing. Confirm the total price, shipping destination and cost, production timeline, what is included, and the seller’s cancellation or return terms before paying. Availability and delivery terms are specific to each listing.
- Clarify provenance and permissions. Ask whether the base is an official Mattel figure, what modifications were made, and whether the seller claims any authorization. Do not assume a custom is endorsed by WWE or Mattel.
Commissioning a figure of yourself or another fan
A personalized gift might depict someone in everyday clothes or in custom wrestling attire. The idea appears in collector discussions, but those anecdotes do not establish a standard service or a maker’s current availability. Send a prospective maker reference photos, preferred clothing and colors, desired poseability, and a realistic deadline; then ask what the quoted commission includes and which details the maker can reproduce.

Before sharing photos, confirm how the maker will use and retain them. For a child or another person, get their permission—or a parent or guardian’s permission where appropriate. If you want the figure based on a real wrestler, also ask how the maker handles logos and other branded details; a handmade item should not be mistaken for an officially licensed release.
Official routes and figure-making context
There has been at least one historical official route to a one-off figure, but it was a contest rather than a custom-order program. In 2010, WWE described a Mattel and THQ contest in which the winning Create-A-Superstar from WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 would be made into a one-of-a-kind Elite Collection figure. The archived contest article gave an entry deadline of December 18, 2010; it does not indicate that entries or commissions are open today.

WWE also reported on November 14, 2018, that Mattel visited the WWE Performance Center in Orlando to 3D-scan NXT competitors including Kairi Sane, The War Raiders, Ricochet, and The Street Profits. WWE said those scans contributed to true-to-life NXT figure sculpts in its report. That is useful historical context for how a likeness can inform a licensed sculpt, not confirmation of Mattel’s current production workflow.

A roundup promising ten specific “mind-blowing” customs should identify each finished build, credit its creator, confirm that the image depicts the item being discussed, and establish permission to publish the image. The available examples do not provide ten individually verified builds with creator attribution, image rights, and durable product pages. Naming ten from changing marketplace search results would risk presenting parts as figures, implying maker endorsement, or showing work without confirmed image permission. For now, use the marketplace category as a discovery starting point and apply the checks above to each individual listing.
