The best choice depends on your setup and the kind of group game you want. A Chromecast receiver usually displays a game cast from a phone, while a Google TV device can also install compatible apps directly. The ten candidates below cover trivia, social deduction, tabletop play, casual party games and dance, but they are not a verified ranking: listings, regions, prices and device support change quickly.
Before inviting guests, confirm your exact receiver or Google TV model, the app’s current store listing and whether players join with an app, a browser or a phone controller. Google’s setup guidance requires a supported Cast-enabled app, a compatible display and the mobile device and receiver on the same Wi-Fi network: Google Cast setup. Google TV’s app-installation features are described at Google TV features.
Set up the room before choosing a game
- Identify whether you have a Cast receiver, Chromecast with Google TV or another Google TV/Android TV device. The word “Chromecast” alone does not prove that apps can be installed on the television.
- Put the host phone, guest phones and receiver on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the current app listing for your country and check Cast support, controller requirements, language and purchase model.
- Decide whether the game runs on the TV, is cast from a phone, or uses the TV only as a shared display.
- Test joining before guests arrive; browser-based joining is often easier than asking everyone to install an app.
Ten game-night candidates
1. Play Table — shared cards, dice and trivia
Play Table describes a Chromecast or Google TV display with each player using a phone as a private hand. Its listing mentions card, dice, trivia and party-table formats, making it useful when players need secret information rather than one shared controller. Treat those capabilities as the publisher’s current listing claims and verify availability for your device and region.
2. Zooked! Party Games — social deduction and bluffing
Zooked! lists Spyfall, Mafia and Hornswoggle, with phones as controllers and browser joining. The publisher says it works with native Chromecast and requires Wi-Fi and at least three players, or bots. Browser entry can reduce setup friction, but check the live listing before relying on native Cast support.

- Up to 4K HDR with Dolby Vision delivers captivating, true-to-life detail[4]; and you can connect speakers that support Dolby Atmos for more immersive 3D sound
3. Buzzin: TV Party Game Show — phone buzzers for trivia
Buzzin turns the television into a trivia game-show screen and phones into buzzers. Its listing describes Chromecast, browser and laptop display options and lists English, Polish, German and Spanish. The language and connection details are publisher claims, so confirm the current version and regional listing.
4. QRcade: Party Games — a broad casual collection
QRcade describes QR-code joining, casting and more than 40 games. That makes it a candidate for mixed-age groups that want to switch quickly between simple formats. The game count and “free” positioning come from the listing; check current pricing and the precise Chromecast workflow before your event.

5. Just Dance Now — movement and music
Just Dance Now uses a phone as a motion controller while the dance action appears on a larger screen. Google’s case study documents a Chromecast flow and quotes Ubisoft technical director Björn Törnqvist: “The best Just Dance Now experience is on a big screen, and Chromecast brings an amazingly quick launch and ease of use for players.” That is a vendor statement, not independent testing. The current Play listing shows in-app purchases; do not assume unlimited songs are free, and confirm Cast compatibility, song access and regional availability.

6. The Jackbox Party Essentials — a Google TV/Netflix Games route
The Netflix Games requirements page includes Chromecast with Google TV and phone or tablet controllers for The Jackbox Party Essentials. This supports a Google TV installation path through Netflix Games; it is not evidence that every older Chromecast dongle can install or run Jackbox. Check your Netflix plan, device model, country and the current requirements page.

7. Dice Together — a digital tabletop accessory
Dice Together casts dice to Chromecast, Google TV or Android TV and lists named dice-game modes. It is best viewed as an accompaniment for an in-person board game, role-playing session or custom party rules, not as a complete party-game library. Features are based on the app listing.

8. Arcade Family Chromecast Games — simple arcade and board play

9. Screens — shared-screen trivia, drawing and maps
Screens describes a phone-controller format for trivia, drawing, map and poker games. The available evidence does not establish Chromecast support specifically, so treat it as a lead only until its current listing confirms a Cast receiver or Google TV workflow.

10. RISK: Big Screen Edition — verify before planning around it
Google’s Chromecast built-in games directory names RISK: Big Screen Edition, alongside Alien Invaders, Tricky Titans, FitFlap and DEER HUNTER 2018. The directory does not establish that RISK is a current download for your device or region, so confirm a live store listing and connection method before selecting it.
