The best Lita vs. Trish Stratus match is their September 17, 2006, Women’s Championship finale at Unforgiven: it gave their rivalry a decisive ending in Trish’s hometown of Toronto. The December 2004 title change and January 2005 rematch are close behind. This is an editorial ranking of memorable documented encounters, not an objective verdict or a complete head-to-head match ledger. The picks weigh championship and personal stakes, match format, outcome, effect on the rivalry, and historical significance.
10. Fully Loaded 2000: Lita and the Hardy Boyz vs. T&A and Trish Stratus
This mixed-tag encounter captures the rivalry before it became a succession of high-profile singles title matches. WWE’s official collection listing includes Lita alongside the Hardy Boyz against T&A and Trish. Its place here reflects its value as an early chapter, not a claim that it was the tenth-best bout by match quality.
WWE describes the rivalry as beginning soon after Trish’s debut, when she managed Test and Albert against Lita’s association with the Hardy Boyz. The match’s format makes the contrast in their early roles part of the story.
9. Raw mixed tag: Lita and The Rock vs. Trish Stratus and Triple H
The official collection also lists a Raw mixed-tag match pairing Lita with The Rock and Trish with Triple H. It broadens the rivalry beyond direct singles competition, with the wrestlers’ partners shaping the matchup. The listing establishes the encounter’s place in the archive, but does not by itself establish a date, finish, or lasting consequence.

8. The early rivalry encounters
Lita and Trish’s story began as a clash of alliances before it developed into a championship rivalry. WWE’s account connects Trish’s early role as manager of Test and Albert with Lita’s ties to the Hardy Boyz. Those shifting alignments give the early encounters historical importance, even when the available documentation does not support a precise ranking among every match from that period.
7. The 2000 mixed-tag chapter in context
The early mixed tags matter because they show that “Lita vs. Trish” did not always mean a one-on-one match. WWE’s collection listing places a Fully Loaded 2000 bout among the pair’s documented encounters. Its team format makes it a useful entry point for viewers following how the rivalry grew from opposing sides of tag matches into a more personal feud.

6. Their first documented rivalry-era meetings
The official Trish Stratus preview describes the pair as having a “love-hate relationship” since their first encounter in 2000. That is promotional language from the official site, rather than a personal statement by either wrestler, but it reflects how the story was framed: former allies and opponents whose relationship changed over time. These early meetings earn a place for laying that groundwork, not for a verified match rating.
5. The rivalry’s transition to championship stakes
As the feud progressed, the Women’s Championship gave their encounters a concrete prize. WWE’s official collection listing includes later championship bouts alongside early mixed tags, showing the arc from team-based clashes to title matches. This transition is a significant part of the rivalry’s appeal: the stakes became more direct, and the results reshaped who held the division’s championship.

4. The championship rivalry before the 2004 title change
The matches leading into December 2004 helped establish the title contest as a major turning point. The available official material confirms the broader rivalry and later championship encounters, but does not provide a complete match-by-match chronology here. This entry recognizes that buildup without assigning an unsupported date, finish, or specific event to a bout.
3. Unforgiven 2006: Trish Stratus vs. Lita
Trish defeated Lita for the Women’s Championship at Unforgiven on September 17, 2006, in Toronto. WWE’s event recap says she applied the Sharpshooter and forced Lita to submit. The hometown setting, championship stakes, and decisive finish make it an unusually complete rivalry-ending match.

WWE reports that 16,105 people attended at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. The contemporaneous official preview called the bout the final chapter and said Trish was retiring after it; that is the preview’s framing of the event, not a claim about every later appearance. WWE’s recap called Trish a six-time champion before the victory and said she made it “lucky number seven.”
2. New Year’s Revolution 2005: Trish Stratus vs. Lita
At New Year’s Revolution on January 9, 2005, Trish regained the Women’s Championship from Lita. WWE’s official preview reports that Lita tore her ACL during the bout, giving the title reversal a serious injury context. The match ranks just below the 2006 finale because its consequence was dramatic, while the Toronto match provides the more conclusive end to their rivalry.

1. Raw, December 6, 2004: Lita vs. Trish Stratus
Lita’s win over Trish for the Women’s Championship on Raw on December 6, 2004, is the rivalry’s defining turning point. WWE identifies the title change in its official preview and collection listing, and published a full-match video. Lita’s victory set up the reversal at New Year’s Revolution, making this bout essential both as a championship milestone and as the start of the feud’s most consequential stretch.
How this ranking treats the record
The official collection listing is useful for identifying encounters, but it is not a complete head-to-head ledger and does not establish current streaming availability. The ranking therefore mixes documented early tag matches with the three well-supported championship turning points, while distinguishing their formats and consequences. It does not claim exact runtimes, critic consensus, or that every Lita–Trish match is represented.
Quick Recap
- WWE’s Lita profile describes the rivalry’s early alignments and calls Trish a seven-time Women’s Champion in its retrospective.
- WWE’s Unforgiven 2006 recap documents the Toronto title match, Sharpshooter finish, and attendance figure.
