The claim that Eddie Murphy said his career would take a “hard left” after a Netflix documentary is not verified by the available sources. They do not identify the documentary or provide an interview or reliable report confirming that Murphy made the remark, so its meaning and context cannot be established.
What is verified—and what is not
An exact-phrase search found a transcript of an interview with Ben Stiller, not Eddie Murphy. Its discussion of Stiller’s career refers to Zoolander 2; it does not support attributing the “hard left” remark to Murphy. A follow-up search did not find a source verifying the Murphy-and-Netflix claim.

Accordingly, the available evidence does not establish which Netflix documentary the headline refers to, when or where Murphy supposedly spoke, or what he meant by “hard left.” There is also no verified evidence that the phrase referred to a specific project rather than a broader intention. Naming a documentary, supplying a date, or describing a career change as fact would go beyond what the sources establish.
Why the attribution matters
A short phrase about changing direction needs its original interview or a reliable report with enough surrounding context to show who said it and what they were discussing. Without that source, the wording cannot be treated as a confirmed Murphy quotation or used to infer an announcement about his next work.

What the sources do establish about Raw
A biographical reference lists Raw and Delirious among Murphy’s stand-up concert films. That is separate from the unverified Netflix claim: the reference does not connect either concert film to a career shift or confirm that a particular physical edition is currently for sale.
