“Personally, I really hope it does” was producer Atsushi Kaneko’s response to the possibility of more Solo Leveling after Season 2. It was a personal hope, not a renewal announcement. As of the latest official update in the sources reviewed here, a theatrical film, Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, is in production; a television Season 3 and release date have not been announced.
What did the producer say about Season 3?
In remarks reported by The Indian Express on March 30, 2025, A-1 Pictures animation producer Atsushi Kaneko said that the TV anime would end “for now” with Episode 25. He added: “With the support of everyone, it may continue, or it may not.” His more hopeful line—“Personally, I really hope it does”—came alongside that caveat, not as confirmation that a third season had been approved. The Indian Express quoted Kaneko in the run-up to the finale.
The update was discouraging for viewers hoping for an immediate Season 3 announcement because it left continuation uncertain. Hindustan Times also reported on March 31, 2025 that Kaneko did not know whether the ending would be temporary, and that audience support might help the series continue. Hindustan Times likewise framed the future as undecided.
Is Solo Leveling Season 3 canceled or renewed?
Neither status is established by the announcements cited here: there is no confirmed TV Season 3, but no cancellation announcement either. The latest official continuation news is a separate project—a theatrical film—not a season order. Aniplex’s news archive lists Solo Leveling: Beyond the System as in production in an announcement dated July 4, 2026, and the official anime site also lists the film. The official materials reviewed do not provide a film release date or announce a third TV season.

A later comment did not change that distinction. In May 2026, Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini was reported as saying that creators were actively working on the next show, while adding that there was “Nothing to announce” at that time. ComicBook.com reproduced the remark from a Radio Times interview; it was a secondary report and did not identify a Season 3 order or date. ComicBook.com’s report should not be read as a confirmation of a particular format.

Season 2 ended with Episode 25 and the Jeju Island Arc, according to The Indian Express. The confirmed next screen project in the official materials cited above is the film Solo Leveling: Beyond the System. A film and a television season are different formats: the film announcement does not itself establish how or whether the anime will continue as a series.
For the story beyond the anime, readers can turn to the source manhwa, also described as a comic. The official anime site credits the original Korean novel and comic to Chugong, DUBU (REDICE STUDIO), and h-goon (D&C Media). Reporting places the Season 2 endpoint at manhwa chapter 110, which can help readers orient themselves, though chapter numbering and editions may vary. That chapter reference is a reported guide, not an official adaptation roadmap.
