What was the viral video?
JustWatch reports that an NSFW video featuring Manley outside Madison Square Garden after a New York Knicks game went viral in 2021. The available reporting does not identify the original account that posted it, give its exact caption, reproduce the video, or establish its full context. It is therefore possible to describe the reported setting and circulation, but not responsibly to fill in what the clip showed or why viewers shared it.
How was he discovered for the film?
According to JustWatch, Josh Safdie discovered Manley with help from casting director Jennifer Venditti. The same account says the role was reportedly written with Manley in mind. That is a reported casting story, not a firsthand account or a direct quote from Safdie, Venditti, or Manley.

Is this the same viral story as the bathtub-scene clip?
No. A separate BuzzFeed article published August 25, 2026 covered viral reactions to an apparent stunt double in a bathtub scene from Marty Supreme. That discussion is distinct from the 2021 video associated with Manley; the stunt-double story does not identify that performer as Manley.
