The first official tease gave viewers only a brief glimpse of Tom Holland’s redesigned Spider-Man suit. Holland’s later set photos showed the costume more clearly.
When filming began
Production started on August 1, 2025. Tom’s Guide reported the start in Glasgow and published its article on August 4, 2025. Treat that as a dated 2025 event: the production-start news is now more than a year old, and the questions readers ask about it are mostly answered by what came after.

What the first teaser showed
The initial teaser was short. Holland emerges from shadow in the new costume and asks, “Are you ready?” It does not reveal plot details. The “new look” in the headline refers to that costume reveal and nothing more.
What Holland’s set photos showed
Holland then shared photos from the set. They show him in costume standing atop an armored vehicle with a stunt wire attached. Tom’s Guide describes the suit’s vivid red and blue colors and a larger spider emblem on the chest. Those visual details come from that outlet’s description of the photos, so they are best read as its account rather than an official design statement.

Where it was shot
A later Variety Australia behind-the-scenes feature explains that the production did much of its New York material in Scotland and England rather than in New York itself.
Glasgow as New York
Glasgow stood in for New York locations, including a large tank chase. According to the same feature, blue screen was used only where needed, and production designer Charles Wood and his crew built key settings physically.

What the news does not establish
The 2025 reporting does not disclose the film’s plot beyond Sony’s synopsis, and the teaser does not confirm any specific storyline. Claims about the suit’s exact colors and emblem size come from Tom’s Guide’s description of Holland’s photos rather than from an official design release.
