Yes. Tubi has greenlit Sidelined 3 as the third and final installment of the series, announced May 7, 2026. The announcement does not say whether Drayton and Dallas end up together. That question is still open, and it is the one Noah Beck addressed in a November 28, 2025 interview, when a third film was still only a possibility.

When Beck and co-star Siena Agudong sat down with TV Insider and Swooon in late November 2025, the second film had just reached Tubi and the franchise’s future was unsettled. Their comments about a third movie were hypothetical. That has changed.

What Tubi has announced for the third film
Tubi says the new film is set two years after the events of the second film, in New York. Drayton is now a USC quarterback and a Heisman hopeful. Dallas is building a new career and working through her love life, which now includes Skyler. Beck and Agudong are confirmed to return, and Michael Medico is directing.

The announcement frames the two leads around separate pursuits. Dallas is chasing her dreams, and Drayton has to prove he is playing for more than a trophy. Those are story setups, not a relationship outcome, and Tubi does not say how the romance resolves.
What Noah Beck said about a reunion
In the interview, Beck’s main point was about how a reunion should happen. He wants any reunion to come from the characters choosing each other, not from a convenient fairy-tale finish. His words in the Swooon interview:
“It’s going to be really interesting to find that balance of, alright, if they do end up together, I want it to be because they choose each other and not just because it’s that [fairy] tale ending… I want her to go do her thing as long as she’s happy. I want them to test this out. Like, see if it works, and if it does, great. I’m happy for her. But if it doesn’t, she knows where I’ll be.”

He also described how he would approach the writing: “And if I meet someone that way, then great,” he said, “but then I think it’s going to be really interesting to play with the writers of how we get our characters to choose one another, as opposed to just being with each other for the convenience.”

They do not promise a happy reunion. Beck wants Dallas to pursue what makes her happy and Drayton to commit to football, and he is open to the couple testing whether they work.
What Agudong and director Justin Wu said
Agudong said she still wants to see Dallas and Drayton reach an endgame. She also hopes Dallas becomes free of judgment and is comfortable admitting she does not know exactly what she is doing.

Wu, the director of the second film, said he wanted a possible continuation to explore life after reaching a dream. As he put it: “If there were to be a third movie and beyond, I really want to investigate what life is like after you’ve achieved your dream.” He called love a throughline, but framed the bigger question around whether the characters are satisfied and happy once they reach their goals.

The story so far
Tubi describes Sidelined 2: Intercepted as following freshman quarterback Drayton after a devastating setback, and dancer Dallas as she questions the future she thought she wanted. Their high-school relationship strains under distance and self-discovery. The films are adapted from Tay Marley’s Wattpad story The QB Bad Boy and Me, which Tubi identifies as the source material.

- Tubi says Sidelined 2: Intercepted was its #1 title by viewers in its first 30 days (Tubi, 2026). This is a distributor-reported claim.
- Tubi also says the film appeared on Variety’s Streaming Original Movies Chart, and attributes the chart data to Luminate’s Film & TV Streaming Viewership product.
Audience profile
- 58% of Tubi’s audience identifies as Gen Z or Millennial, according to Tubi’s November 2025 MRI Study, cited in a 2026 announcement.
- 47% of Tubi’s audience identifies as multicultural, according to the same study and announcement.
- Tubi describes itself as having over 100 million monthly active users (Tubi, 2026). This is a company self-description.
The announcement does not include MRI methodology, so these audience percentages describe Tubi’s platform overall. They say nothing about how many people watched this film.

How to read the couple’s future
Two readings of the Drayton and Dallas story now coexist, and the official material supports both.
- A reunion earned by choice: Beck’s stated preference, and Agudong’s hope for an endgame. It requires both characters to change course and decide, after time apart, that they want the same thing.
- A story about separate lives: Wu’s question about life after a goal, and Tubi’s framing of Dallas chasing her dreams and Drayton proving his priorities. The relationship can stay open, or end, without undermining the story.
What is established is the status: a third and final film, two years on, in New York, with the same lead actors. What is not established is whether the final film resolves the romance, and Tubi’s announcement does not say.
