Spoiler: The Fire Country Season 4 trailer confirms that Vince Leone, played by Billy Burke, dies in the Zabel Ridge fire. The reveal follows the Season 3 finale cliffhanger, when Vince, Sharon Leone and Walter were trapped in a care facility as it exploded. The trailer’s confirmation is specifically about Vince; it does not establish the fates of Sharon or Walter. TVLine reported the reveal on September 23, 2025.
Who dies in the Season 4 trailer?
Vince Leone is the major character whose death the trailer confirms. The footage shows Bode at Vince’s funeral, where he says: “I’m going to spend the rest of my career protecting my father’s town, my father’s station, my father’s mission.” TVLine describes the line as part of Bode’s eulogy in the trailer; it is fictional dialogue, not a statement from a real person. TVLine’s trailer report identifies Vince as the casualty.

How the death connects to the Season 3 cliffhanger
The Season 3 finale left Vince, Sharon and Walter trapped inside a care facility when an explosion hit. Paramount+’s Season 4 guide says Vince perishes in the blast. That resolves the cliffhanger for Vince, but the trailer reveal and guide details cited here do not confirm what happened to Sharon or Walter. Paramount+’s Season 4 guide provides the cliffhanger context.
When the trailer and Season 4 arrived
- September 23, 2025: TVLine reported that CBS had released the Season 4 trailer and that Vince was dead.
- October 17, 2025: Season 4 premiered. CBS lists the opening episode as “Goodbye for Now.”
- March 13, 2026: CBS’s episode guide lists Season 4, Episode 12, “Life of a Firefighter.”
The Season 4 trailer reveal is therefore a retrospective, not a new announcement or an upcoming premiere. CBS’s series page lists episode information, while Paramount Global Content lists the Season 5 premiere for October 9, 2026. CBS’s Fire Country page and Paramount Global Content’s series listing provide those current listings.
