MrBeast Burger’s first permanent physical restaurant opened at American Dream in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on September 4, 2022. More than 10,000 people were reportedly already in line ten minutes before opening, according to an estimate MrBeast gave at the time—not an independently audited headcount.
Where and when did the first permanent MrBeast Burger open?
The restaurant opened on September 4, 2022, at American Dream, the shopping and entertainment complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey. American Dream described it as the world’s first MrBeast Burger restaurant. The venue’s page lists the location and its menu.
This was a milestone for a brand that had previously operated primarily as a virtual restaurant concept, with food prepared in existing kitchens for delivery. The official MrBeast Burger site distinguishes that delivery model from the American Dream venue, a physical restaurant where customers could dine in.
What does the 10,000-person line figure mean?
Contemporary coverage reported MrBeast’s estimate that more than 10,000 people were already queuing ten minutes before the doors opened. Bon Appétit’s September 2022 report attributes the figure to him. It should be read as an estimate of people in line at that point, not a verified total of everyone who attended during the day.

How many burgers were made at the opening?
After the event, Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, said that more than 5,500 burgers had been made for the grand opening. In a public post, he wrote: “More than 5,500 burgers made for all you amazing people who came out on to see the grand opening of the first physical MrBeast Burger location.” The post supports what Donaldson claimed; it is not independent verification of the number.

The burger figure and the line estimate describe different things: one is Donaldson’s later claim about burgers made during the day, while the other is his reported estimate of people waiting shortly before opening. Coverage noted that Guinness World Records had requested proof of a record claim; the sources do not establish that a single-day burger record was certified.
Was this MrBeast Burger’s first in-person event?
No. The American Dream restaurant was the brand’s first permanent physical location, but the official site also recounts a free, temporary MrBeast Burger pop-up in Wilson, North Carolina, on November 19, 2020. The brand’s account of the event distinguishes that earlier pop-up from the later permanent restaurant.
