Young Thug said he felt hurt and disappointed by Gunna’s plea and by not receiving a personal explanation. He also said he still loved Gunna and did not wish him ill will. The interview was on Big Bank’s Perspektives With Bank; “betrayal” describes Thug’s reported feelings, not a proven finding that Gunna cooperated against him.
What did Young Thug say about Gunna?
In the interview, Thug spoke about feeling let down after Gunna accepted a plea deal and about the lack of a direct explanation between them. Hot 97 reports that Thug asked, “Why you ain’t gave me an explanation?” The outlet also quotes him saying, “I love you bruh… I poured so much into him, I can’t even hate him.” These excerpts are reproduced by Hot 97, not verified against a complete interview transcript. Hot 97’s report
Rolling Stone Australia and Stereogum likewise describe Thug as emotional and disappointed while still expressing affection for Gunna. Read together, the reported remarks convey a strained relationship and a sense of loss, rather than a simple declaration of hatred. Rolling Stone Australia; Stereogum

Did Gunna “snitch” or betray Young Thug?
The reporting establishes that Gunna accepted a plea deal; it does not establish as a court finding that he cooperated against Young Thug or YSL. Hot 97 reports that Gunna maintained his innocence and said he did not cooperate against YSL. “Snitch” and “betrayal” are judgments used by some people discussing the plea, and “betrayal” is also how Thug’s reported hurt has been framed. They should not be presented as proven facts. Hot 97’s account of the interview and plea
In describing the case, Rolling Stone Australia says prosecutors alleged that Thug and Gunna were co-bosses of a street gang; it also notes that Thug maintained YSL was not a criminal organization. Those are, respectively, an allegation and Thug’s position—not a basis for treating the characterization of Gunna’s plea as legally established.

How the plea fits into the case
The plea was part of the wider YSL prosecution. The Associated Press reported on November 19, 2024, that Young Thug had pleaded guilty to gang, drug and gun charges in October 2024 and received time served plus 15 years of probation. AP also reported that Gunna was among nine defendants who accepted plea deals before trial began, and that more than 175 witnesses testified during the trial. These figures describe the case, not the interview. The Associated Press, November 19, 2024

Thug had addressed the relationship before the Perspektives With Bank conversation. In coverage published April 28, 2025, iHeart reported that he answered “I don’t know” when asked about Gunna during an April 25 GQ interview. That brief response was less detailed than the reported remarks on Perspektives With Bank, and it should not be mistaken for the same interview. iHeart’s report on the GQ interview
