The public dispute began when Eliza Orlins criticized Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick’s political social-media activity in 2025. Kendrick answered with a video that included a remark about Orlins’ Jewish identity and her family’s wealth, then apologized for her wording. The story later widened when Orlins criticized CBS’s handling of the controversy.
What started the dispute?
In a 2025 post, Orlins criticized Kendrick’s political social-media activity, including posts and follows that Orlins viewed as supportive of Donald Trump and right-wing positions. Orlins also addressed Kendrick’s past skepticism about COVID-19 vaccines and what Orlins characterized as misinformation. Those are Orlins’ criticisms, not independent findings about Kendrick’s views or conduct. Us Weekly reported on the exchange.

What did Kendrick say, and why did she apologize?
On August 17, 2025, Kendrick posted a video responding to Orlins; the video was later deleted. Kendrick said Orlins had tried to “bury” her over Donald Trump and made a remark linking Orlins’ Jewish identity with her parents’ wealth. She also defended her own working-class background. Us Weekly quoted the video.
On August 21, Kendrick apologized. She said she had “misspoke,” called the wording abrupt, poorly worded and offensive, and accepted responsibility for how it came across. She said she had meant to express frustration that Orlins was not supporting the Jewish community, while acknowledging that her phrasing was wrong. Orlins, in a response reported by Us Weekly, said she was not surprised by Kendrick’s remarks.

Why did CBS and Paramount become part of the story?
In February 2026, as Survivor 50 approached, Orlins criticized CBS for its response to Kendrick’s remarks and for including Kendrick in the season’s promotional cycle. She placed that criticism within a broader critique of CBS. In a video shared with Semafor, Orlins said, “CBS is not being neutral here.” Semafor reported on Orlins’ criticism.
Semafor also reported that Paramount requested a meeting with Orlins in 2026. The accounts of that conversation differ: Semafor said representatives raised trademark use and urged respect for other contestants; a CBS source familiar with the conversation told the outlet the call focused on trademark issues and was not prompted by Orlins’ political statements about CBS. Paramount did not respond to Semafor’s request for comment. The available reporting does not resolve the difference between those accounts.

What is known about their relationship now?
The public record in the cited coverage establishes a clash over political activity, Kendrick’s response and apology, and Orlins’ later criticism of CBS. It does not establish either woman’s private motives, private conversations, or the full state of their current relationship. There is no basis in these reports to say that they have reconciled or remain in direct contact.
