Travis Kelce said meeting Julia Roberts in Dublin was “pretty cool”—and admitted he wished he had gotten a photo with her. The “starstruck” description comes from contemporary coverage of his encounters with famous guests around Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, rather than from a direct quote about Roberts.
What did Travis Kelce say about Julia Roberts?
On the July 3, 2024 episode of New Heights, Kelce told his brother Jason, “Yeah, I met Julia Roberts in Dublin, Ireland.” When Jason brought up the photo, Kelce said, “I wish I would have gotten one.” He also called the meeting “pretty cool.” Us Weekly’s contemporaneous account reports the same exchange; the podcast episode is the primary source for Kelce’s remarks.
Why was he described as starstruck?
Kelce’s reaction fits the unusual company he encountered during the tour period. In its July 3, 2024 coverage of his London Eras Tour appearance, Vanity Fair described him as a little starstruck by people in the VIP tent, including Roberts, Tom Cruise and Greta Gerwig. The article also recounted his feeling that he did not know what he was doing there among people whose talent and presence impressed him.
That framing helps explain the headline, but it should not be mistaken for Kelce saying that he was starstruck specifically by Roberts. In the podcast exchange, his own words about her were that the meeting was “pretty cool” and that he wished he had a photo.

Dublin and London are separate details
The locations matter: Kelce identified his meeting with Roberts as taking place in Dublin. Separately, Vanity Fair’s account places Roberts among the celebrities in the London VIP tent. Those reports describe distinct tour stops and should not be blended into one encounter.
The direct answer, then, is that Kelce appeared impressed by the famous people he met around the Eras Tour, and he singled out meeting Roberts in Dublin as a memorable moment. His recorded reaction was understated: it was “pretty cool,” and he regretted not getting a picture.
