The claim that Prince William and Princess Kate “haven’t been seen” since the Prince Andrew scandal is outdated: TIME reported that the couple visited Charing Cross Hospital on January 8, 2026. The earlier claim referred to a reported pause in their public engagements after October 17, 2025—not proof that they had disappeared or that the Andrew story caused a change in their schedule.
Where the “haven’t been seen” claim came from
Marie Claire reported on October 24, 2025, that William and Kate had not undertaken public engagements since October 17. That was a specific gap in their official appearances as reported at the time, not evidence that they were unseen in every setting or that their absence was linked to Andrew.

The timing overlapped with the Wales children’s school half-term. Marie Claire offered the break and family time in Norfolk as context, and also discussed a reported move to Forest Lodge. Some details were attributed to unnamed insiders. These were reported explanations and context, not an official statement from the couple that half-term—or the Andrew story—explained their schedule.
What is established about the couple’s response
TIME reported that a Kensington Palace spokesperson addressed the continuing revelations in February 2026, saying on behalf of William and Kate: “I can confirm the Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations. Their thoughts remain focused on the victims.” This is a statement attributed to a palace spokesperson, not a personal interview with the couple.
#1 Best Overall
The statement conveys concern for victims. It does not say that the scandal caused William and Kate to avoid public appearances, nor does it explain their schedule.

The Royal Family’s official Royal Diary lists public engagements up to eight weeks in advance. It is useful for checking announced official duties, but it is not a record of everything the family does. An empty stretch of listings cannot establish whether someone was seen privately, what they were doing, or why they were not undertaking public engagements.
