The show’s official listing on Comedy Central agrees on the rotation. Its episode entries name Michael Kosta for October 6 and October 7, and name Jon Stewart for a September 28 episode. Those entries show the pattern of rotating hosts across the weeks, but they do not say why any particular night is assigned to a particular host.
Why the answer is a rotation, not an absence
Stewart’s name appears on the schedule for Monday, so the show is not telling viewers he has left. The published assignments describe a division of hosting duties across the week. On this schedule, Stewart is assigned to one night, and another host covers the rest of the weeknights.

The sources reviewed for this article do not report any personal reason, health matter, contract issue, hiatus or change in Stewart’s role. Any explanation beyond the rotation would be speculation, so this article does not offer one.
When the show airs and where to watch
Comedy Central’s official listing describes The Daily Show as airing weeknights at 11/10c and says the episode is available “Next Day on Paramount+.” BroadwayWorld’s October 5 report gives the broadcast time as 11 p.m. ET/PT. Those times apply to the standard US Eastern and Pacific schedule, so viewers in other regions should check their local listing.
