WWE has a credible case for giving Braun Strowman another opportunity: his record includes a Universal Championship and several signature wins, and recent reporting points to renewed in-ring activity and conditional interest in wrestling. That is an argument for considering a return—not evidence that WWE is pursuing one, or that Strowman is ready for a full-time schedule.
What Strowman has already accomplished in WWE
Strowman is not an untested prospect asking for a first major break. WWE’s career profile traces his rise from the “Black Sheep” of The Wyatt Family to a solo star in 2016, and credits him with the Universal Championship, Intercontinental Championship and Raw Tag Team Championship. The profile also lists his 2018 Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match victory, the Greatest Royal Rumble Championship and the 2019 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal win.
His defining championship achievement came at WrestleMania 36, where WWE says he defeated Goldberg to win the Universal Championship. That history makes a return plausible as a story choice: WWE could present him as a former champion with an established place in the company’s major-event history, rather than needing to introduce audiences to who he is.
Why his character still has a clear role
Strowman’s “Monster of All Monsters” identity is immediately legible: a physically imposing powerhouse whose presence changes the scale of a match or feud. WWE’s profile lists him at 6 feet 8 inches and 385 pounds; those are the company’s published figures, not independently verified measurements.

A distinct presentation can be useful in a roster built around varied styles and characters. Strowman could be positioned as a featured attraction, or as a formidable obstacle who gives another wrestler a meaningful challenge. Either approach would need more than size alone: a compelling story and a clear purpose would make the opportunity worthwhile.
What is known about his departure and return interest
WWE’s alumni directory lists Strowman as an alumnus. F4W reported that WWE released him in May 2025, ending his second tenure with the company. The available reporting does not establish WWE’s internal reason for the release, so it would be speculation to assign one.

There are signs that wrestling remains of interest to him. In an October 2025 interview, as reported by POST Wrestling, Strowman said, “Don’t get me wrong, I miss being in the ring.” He also described enjoying a break while his body began to feel more normal and nagging injuries healed. Those comments are his account of how he felt at the time; they are not a medical evaluation.
POST Wrestling later reported that Strowman wrestled at a Great Lakes Championship Wrestling event on July 11, 2026, his first reported in-ring appearance since his WWE run ended. The outlet also described him as focused on non-wrestling work, including the USA Network food and lifestyle show Everything on the Menu. The match establishes that he wrestled again, not that he is prepared for the frequency or physical demands of a weekly WWE schedule.

A June 2026 eWrestling report, summarizing his appearance on the Battleground Podcast, said Strowman was open to wrestling if the money were right and relayed his mention of Oba Femi as a potential opponent. Conditional openness is not an offer, confirmed negotiations or evidence that WWE has a return plan.
The case for an opportunity—and the reason to be cautious
The case rests on a combination of documented value and present-day uncertainty. WWE has already trusted Strowman with major championships and high-profile event wins; his character has a straightforward, distinctive presentation; and recent reports indicate that he has wrestled again and remains conditionally open to wrestling. Those points justify considering what a useful return might look like.

The caution is equally concrete: Strowman reportedly said he was recovering from lingering injuries and that his body was only beginning to feel normal after time away. A single independent appearance cannot establish that he can handle the travel, repetition and recovery demands of a full-time schedule. Any return discussion should separate interest from readiness.

WWE has not announced a return format, and no confirmed competing offers or negotiations have been established. As editorial options—not known WWE plans—a carefully scoped program could make more sense than assuming an immediate return to a demanding weekly schedule.

The strongest version of the opportunity would pair a schedule suited to his condition with a story that gives him more to do than simply appear as a large opponent. Should WWE bring him back?
There is a reasonable case for WWE to consider it. Strowman has a documented championship record, a recognizable character and reported signs of renewed interest in wrestling. But a return is not confirmed, and the public evidence does not answer whether his body is ready for a sustained run. The soundest case is for a meaningful opportunity shaped around verified readiness, not an assumption that past success alone settles the question.
