Charlie Puth sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Super Bowl LX, held February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Deaf performer Fred Beam delivered the anthem in American Sign Language as part of the same pregame segment.

Who sang the anthem

The NFL’s pregame announcement named Charlie Puth as the vocalist for the U.S. national anthem, and the Seattle Seahawks’ official video of the event identifies Puth performing it. Associated Press reporter Jonathan Landrum Jr. also reported that Puth sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” and described the performance as “big and soulful.”

Who signed the anthem

Fred Beam performed the anthem’s American Sign Language rendition. NBC Sports described sign-language streams on NBCSports.com and NBC.com and said the broadcast would include captions.

The other pregame songs and singers

The pregame lineup included three songs, and each is easy to confuse with the anthem. Keep them separate:

Song Performer(s) named Source notes
“The Star-Spangled Banner” (U.S. national anthem) Charlie Puth (sung); Fred Beam (American Sign Language) NFL pregame announcement; Seahawks video; AP event report
“America the Beautiful” Brandi Carlile per AP’s event report; the NFL announcement also listed Julian Ortiz for this song The two sources name different performers for this song, so the NFL announcement and AP’s event report should be read together
“Lift Every Voice and Sing” Coco Jones (sung); Fred Beam (American Sign Language, as announced) NFL pregame announcement; AP event report

Halftime is a separate segment

Bad Bunny was the announced halftime headliner. The NFL’s announcement treats halftime as its own segment, so it is not part of the anthem lineup.

Broadcast and event details

  • Date and venue: February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
  • Broadcast outlets for the pregame entertainment: NBC, Telemundo, and Peacock, as listed in the NFL announcement.
  • Accessibility: NBC Sports said sign-language streams were available on NBCSports.com and NBC.com, with captions in the broadcast.

Context on the performer

The NFL described Puth as a Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and producer. The announcement noted that his performance came ahead of the then-scheduled March 6, 2026 release of his fourth studio album, Whatever’s Clever!

What the NFL said about the lineup

Jon Barker, the NFL’s senior vice president of global event production, said: “These artists bring a distinct voice to the moment, helping set the tone for a day that will captivate fans around the world.” Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez said in the same announcement: “Charlie, Brandi, and Coco are generational talents, and we are honored to have them – alongside our extraordinary deaf performers – on Super Bowl LX’s world stage.”

The sources reviewed for this article cover the event itself and the announced lineup. They do not attach a measured figure to Puth’s career streaming totals, so none is cited here.

How to verify the lineup

  1. Check the NFL’s pregame announcement for the official performer list and song assignments.
  2. Check the team’s or broadcaster’s post-event video for who was on stage.
  3. Check a wire report, such as the Associated Press, for event-day confirmation and any changes from the announced lineup.

If two sources disagree about a single song, as with “America the Beautiful” above, trust the post-event reporting over the pregame plan.
