Why the February 2023 ceremony was not the legal marriage
Early reports treated the Sacramento ceremony as the couple’s wedding, and Crawley’s caption supported that reading. In a later interview reported by E! News in October 2024, Crawley clarified that the ceremony was not legally binding. She said her mother, Lilia, had become seriously ill, and that the couple moved the intimate ceremony forward so her mother could witness the vows.
Crawley’s explanation of the decision: “I care about who’s there, and I care that my mom gets to witness that.”
When you cite a wedding date for this couple, separate the two events. The February 2023 ceremony is the one publicly reported and photographed; the legal marriage is the later event Crawley described, and the sources reviewed do not specify when or where it took place.
