According to September 2025 reporting on Pinellas County probate filings, Nick Hogan is the only beneficiary named in Hulk Hogan’s will, and Brooke Hogan is not listed. The “$25 million battle” is not a confirmed legal fight. That figure was an early estimate of Hogan’s wealth, published before the probate details became public. The filed probate value reported since is nearly $5 million, and the reporting does not show that an inheritance contest or an elective-share claim has been filed.
Who is named to inherit, according to the filing
Hogan died on July 24, 2025. On September 9, 2025, Nick Hogan sought appointment as co-personal representative of the estate, alongside Terry McCoy. Reporting based on the court documents, including coverage by The Independent and EL PAÍS, said the will was executed in 2016 and amended in 2017, 2021, 2022, and July 2023. In every version described, Nick is the sole named beneficiary, and Brooke is not mentioned as a beneficiary.

These are reported contents of court filings. The will itself has not been reviewed independently for this article, so the beneficiary designation should be read as what the filing was reported to say, not as a verified copy of the document.
Where the $25 million number came from
The $25 million figure first circulated in early coverage. InvestmentNews, on July 28, 2025, described an estimated fortune of approximately $25 million and discussed possible family tension and the Florida elective share. WealthManagement.com followed on August 6, 2025, with a speculative estate analysis. Both pieces ran before the September probate filings surfaced, and both were scenario-based rather than reports of a filed claim or a court valuation.
#1 Best Overall
A personal wealth estimate, a probate inventory, and an inheritance are three different measures. The $25 million number is the first of these. It should not be read as the amount in probate, the amount Nick will receive, or the amount any party has asked a court to award.
What the probate filing reportedly lists
The September 2025 reporting describes a filing with a total of nearly $5 million in assets, broken into categories. The table below separates each reported figure from its source and status.
Rank #2
| Figure | What it measures | Source and date | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Approximately $25 million | Estimated total fortune | InvestmentNews, July 28, 2025 | Early estimate; predates the probate filing |
| Nearly $5 million | Total value of assets described in the probate filing | The Independent, September 2025, citing court documents obtained by Us Weekly and TMZ | Reported filing value, not a final estate valuation |
| $200,000 | Cryptocurrency | The Independent, September 2025 | Reported filing category |
| $799,000 | Personal property and intellectual property | The Independent, September 2025 | Reported filing category |
| Approximately $4 million | Right of publicity | The Independent, September 2025 | Reported valuation in the filing |
| Approximately $11 million combined | Two Clearwater, Florida homes | realestate.com.au, updated September 12, 2025 | Estimated property values; reported as not listed in the probate paperwork |
The three reported asset categories add up to roughly the nearly $5 million total. The two Clearwater homes are outside that total, which is why the probate figure and the estate’s overall value cannot be compared directly. Trust holdings, debts, taxes, and claims against the estate are not reconciled in any of the September 2025 reporting, and no later inventory has been reviewed for this article.
Could a spouse or child claim a larger share?
The Florida elective share
Early coverage raised the possibility that Sky Daily could seek a share under Florida’s elective share rules. FindLaw’s general explainer describes the surviving spouse’s elective share as 30% of an augmented estate, and notes that the right can be waived by agreement. That is a description of the law, not a finding about this estate. The 30% figure applies to the augmented estate as defined by statute, not to the $25 million headline, and no filing or award has been reported.

Adult children and will contests
An adult child does not inherit automatically. What passes depends on the will, any trusts, and the applicable law. FindLaw discusses will contests as a general matter, but the reporting reviewed here does not show that Brooke Hogan has filed one. Her absence from the reported will is a documented fact of the filing; a legal claim on her part is not.
The separate federal case is not a probate fight
A different court matter is often mixed up with the inheritance story. In the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, a September 4, 2025 order initially prohibited publication of a specific tape or excerpts as temporary relief. It denied the broader restrictions the plaintiffs had requested, because they were sought without notice. A later order records that the temporary order was dissolved and a preliminary injunction was denied after further review, including questions about the plaintiffs’ capacity when the case began.

That case concerns the use of recordings and settlement, copyright, and trademark issues. It does not decide who inherits, and the order refers to a planned documentary, which at the time was described as being distributed through outlets including Amazon Prime.

The reporting in this article runs through September 2025. More than a year has passed since then, and the reviewed sources do not establish the current status of the probate case, a later inventory, any elective-share claim, or a distribution order. Do not assume the estate has been distributed. To check the current status:
Best Value
- Open the Pinellas County Clerk of Court and Comptroller’s online case search and search for “Hogan” under probate cases.
- Find the petition for administration and the will attached to it, and compare the beneficiary language with the reporting described above.
- Look for the inventory of assets. Florida requires a personal representative to file one, so its contents will show whether the reported $5 million figure has been updated and whether the Clearwater homes appear.
- Look for any petition relating to the elective share or any will contest. If none appears on the docket, no such claim has been filed in the probate case.
- Check the docket date of the most recent filing before relying on any figure.
Until those documents are checked, the verified points are narrow: the September 2025 filing reportedly named Nick as sole beneficiary, the reported probate value is nearly $5 million, and the $25 million number is an early estimate.
