The name invites a connection to the Doctor’s granddaughter Susan: “S. Triad” is an anagram of “TARDIS.” The finale uses that resemblance as part of the mystery, but the official character account describes Sue as an ordinary human whose apparent identity was manufactured by Sutekh—not as the Doctor’s granddaughter.
Why does Susan Twist appear throughout the season?
Susan Twist plays Susan Triad, but her recurring face appears in several different roles before the finale reveals the connection. Those appearances are a deliberate part of the season’s mystery. The character biography lists “Wild Blue Yonder” as her first regular appearance and “The Reality War” as her most recent appearance in its current chronology.
