Jasveen Sangha, known as the “Ketamine Queen,” pleaded guilty in September 2025 to five federal drug counts connected to ketamine distribution, including distribution resulting in Matthew Perry’s death or serious bodily injury. On April 8, 2026, she was sentenced to 180 months—15 years—in federal prison. The plea is no longer pending; the case has reached sentencing.

Who is Jasveen Sangha?

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) identifies Sangha as a 42-year-old North Hollywood woman and dual citizen of the United States and the United Kingdom. “Ketamine Queen” is a nickname used in coverage and in the DOJ’s announcement, not a formal legal title.

The DOJ’s account, which summarizes court documents, describes Sangha as a drug dealer who used her North Hollywood residence to store, package and distribute narcotics. It says she had used the home for that purpose since at least June 2019. The announcement is an official summary, not a full biography or sentencing transcript.

What was her role in Matthew Perry’s death?

According to the DOJ’s account of court documents, Sangha worked with Erik Fleming to supply ketamine to Perry. In October 2023, Sangha and Fleming sold Perry 51 vials, which were provided to Perry’s live-in assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa.

The DOJ says Iwamasa repeatedly injected Perry with ketamine supplied by Sangha through Fleming. On October 28, 2023, Iwamasa injected Perry with at least three shots, which the DOJ says caused Perry’s death. These details are attributed to the DOJ’s summary of court documents.

After learning of Perry’s death through news reports, Sangha called Fleming on Signal to discuss distancing themselves from the death, according to the DOJ. The DOJ also says Sangha changed settings to auto-delete messages and told Fleming, “Delete all our messages.”

What were the five federal charges?

In September 2025, Sangha pleaded guilty to five federal counts:

  • One count of maintaining a drug-involved premises.
  • Three counts of ketamine distribution.
  • One count of distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury.

Those counts distinguish the alleged use of her home and the distribution conduct from the count tied to a fatal outcome. The DOJ’s April 8, 2026 announcement reports the plea and sentence.

Why does the case also involve a 2019 overdose?

The DOJ says Sangha sold four ketamine vials to Cody McLaury in August 2019, and that McLaury died hours later from a drug overdose. This was an earlier fatal overdose described in the DOJ’s account, separate in time from Perry’s death.

In March 2024, a search of Sangha’s North Hollywood residence found 79 vials of liquid ketamine, thousands of pressed methamphetamine pills, MDMA tablets, counterfeit Xanax pills, ketamine and cocaine, along with packaging materials, cash and other items, according to the DOJ. The agency says the residence had been used to store, package and distribute narcotics since at least June 2019.

What sentence did Sangha receive?

On April 8, 2026, U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett sentenced Sangha to 180 months, or 15 years, in federal prison. The sentence followed her September 2025 guilty plea; she is not awaiting a plea or sentencing.

These case details and procedural dates come from the DOJ’s Central District of California announcement, “North Hollywood Drug Dealer Who Sold Ketamine that Killed Actor Matthew Perry Sentenced to 15 Years in Federal Prison,” published April 8, 2026: U.S. Department of Justice announcement.
