The two events were close in time, but the reporting available does not show that they were connected in any operational way.
Who flew on NS-33
Blue Origin’s official mission record lists six passengers. Allie Kuehner and her husband Carl Kuehner flew together, along with Leland Larson, Freddie Rescigno Jr., Owolabi Salis and Jim Sitkin. The company announced the crew on June 13, 2025, and the mission record and the announcement agree on the names.

Blue Origin’s announcement quotes Audrey Powers, the company’s VP of Mission and Flight Operations, on what the group had in common: “One thing this crew shares in common is an appreciation of our planet’s beauty and the need to preserve it for future generations.” The sources reviewed for this article do not describe the passengers’ professional backgrounds, so none are included here.
The timeline: wedding first, launch later
The wedding and the launch were separate events, and the launch date moved more than once because of weather. The table below sets out the dates as reported.

The headline’s phrase “wraps up” describes the wedding as a multi-day affair, but the Associated Press report places the ceremony itself on Friday night and describes events spread across the city. It does not give a timeline for any festivities after the ceremony, so this article does not say when they ended.
Why the launch slipped
The mission did not fly on its first attempts. Blue Origin reported a high-wind scrub on June 21 at Launch Site One and a weather scrub on June 22 before setting the June 29 attempt. On the morning of June 29 the company adjusted the launch window while it assessed cloud cover and wind. Wind and weather are the only causes the company gave for the delays.

Keeping the flight counts straight
Several numbers circulate around New Shepard, and they measure different things. Blue Origin’s own figures are cumulative as of NS-33 and should not be read as current totals.

Because the 70 figure counts individuals and the 13 figure counts flights, the two cannot be converted into one another. The company has not published a later total in the sources reviewed for this article.

What the sources do not establish
- A link between the wedding and the mission. The reporting places the two events two days apart. It does not show that the wedding shaped the launch schedule, the passenger list or the mission’s purpose, and it does not show that any NS-33 passenger was connected to the wedding.
- Flight duration and altitude. The mission record and announcement do not state how long NS-33 lasted or how high it went. Figures from other New Shepard flights should not be assumed to apply here.
