Whitney Cummings announced on December 17, 2023, that she had welcomed her first child, a boy. Her post joked about the immediate changes of new parenthood; the announcement coverage did not give the baby’s name or exact birth date.
What Whitney Cummings announced
Cummings shared the news on Instagram on December 17, 2023. Entertainment Tonight and the Los Angeles Times reported that the child was a boy. The Los Angeles Times quoted her caption: “3-D printed a human. Enjoy me never having brushed hair again.” (Los Angeles Times; Entertainment Tonight)
Her pregnancy announcement
In June 2023, Cummings announced that she was pregnant and described a “human pup” arriving in December. She later said she was expecting a boy, according to the Los Angeles Times. The announcement coverage places the pregnancy news and birth announcement within the same year, but does not establish an exact delivery date.
What is—and isn’t—known about the birth
December 17 is the date Cummings publicly announced her child’s arrival, not a confirmed date of birth. The Los Angeles Times noted that a friend’s Instagram story showing Cummings after the birth appeared on the preceding Saturday, but that secondary reporting does not establish the day the baby was born. The cited coverage does not disclose the child’s name.

Why the announcement drew attention
