On the opening night of the 2025 Cowboy Carter Tour, reported on 28 April 2025, it was the song behind a funk-dance passage that came immediately before “Spaghettii.” The tour itself opened with “Ameriican Requiem,” the spelling Le Monde uses, which Official Charts lists as “American Requiem.”
What played before “Spaghettii”
Brazilian coverage of the opening night describes Beyoncé dancing funk steps, including the passinho style, to a remix built on “Essa Tá Quente.” The passage sat directly before “Spaghettii” in the set. The gshow account of that night places the track in exactly that position and credits it to DJ Mimo Prod (gshow). CNN Brasil, which also covered the funk segment in April 2025, names the same producer and describes the Portuguese lyrics in the passage (CNN Brasil).

Why two Brazilian tracks come up
Coverage often names two funk songs, and they are not the same thing. The sample built into “Spaghettii” itself is “Aquecimento das Danadas” by DJ O Mandrake. That track is part of the existing song. The separate passage before it is “Essa Tá Quente.” If you hear a funk beat in the “Spaghettii” section and want the name of the track played in the run-up to it, the answer is “Essa Tá Quente.”

The tour’s first song was “Ameriican Requiem,” according to Le Monde’s report on its Paris stadium concert in June 2025 (Le Monde). Official Charts’ set list also places “American Requiem” first and lists “Spaghettii (Brazilian Funk Remix)” later in the show (Official Charts). Use the spelling of the source you cite; the two outlets differ.

These descriptions come from concert reporting in 2025. Setlists on a long tour change between cities and dates, so a funk passage tied to opening night may not appear in the same position on later dates. For the specific track, the opening-night reports are the reliable reference; for the opener, the set list reported for the early shows is the one to cite.
