Netflix streamed the main ceremony live worldwide from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles. An official pre-show started earlier, at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT, on the same service. The event has already taken place, so the details below are written as past-event facts.
Start times and where the broadcast ran
Two programs made up the evening, and they started at different times. Readers looking for the start of the televised ceremony need the main-event time; readers who wanted the red-carpet coverage needed the earlier pre-show.
| Program | Start time (ET / PT) | Platform | What it contained |
|---|---|---|---|
| Official pre-show, The Actor’s Red Carpet | 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT | Netflix, live | Interviews with nominees and presenters, red-carpet coverage, and the announcement of the stunt ensemble winners. Hosted by Paige DeSorbo and Scott Evans. |
| Main ceremony, Actor Awards Presented by SAG-AFTRA | 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT | Netflix, live worldwide | The awards show itself, hosted by Kristen Bell, from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles. |
No competing broadcast service carried the 2026 event in the official sources reviewed. Netflix was the live platform for both the pre-show and the main ceremony, so the only scheduling choice viewers faced was which of the two programs to start with.
Why it is called the Actor Awards now
The March 2026 ceremony was the first edition under the Actor Awards name. The program was previously known as the SAG Awards. It remains the 32nd annual ceremony in the series, so the change is one of branding rather than a break in numbering. Harrison Ford received SAG-AFTRA’s Life Achievement Award during the evening.

What the awards honored
SAG-AFTRA said the ceremony recognized motion-picture and television performances from the prior calendar year. The eligibility window ran from January 1 through December 31, 2025. The program covered 15 categories, spanning individual and ensemble achievement in film, drama series, and comedy series. Nominees and winners were chosen by eligible SAG-AFTRA performers.
In its January 7, 2026 announcement, SAG-AFTRA described the program this way: “The Actor Awards Presented by SAG-AFTRA is the only televised awards ceremony that exclusively honors actors in TV and film.” The same announcement put the eligible voting pool at more than 118,000 members. That figure covers voters for the awards only. It is separate from SAG-AFTRA’s overall membership count, which the union reports on its own terms.
