The Television Academy’s biography identifies her as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta and lists Manhattan, New York City, as her birthplace. Apple Music’s artist biography gives the same full name and says she was born in New York in 1986.

How did she get the name Lady Gaga?
In a Barbara Walters interview, Lady Gaga said her friends began calling her “Gaga” because they thought she was theatrical. ABC News reported her explanation on January 21, 2010: “I was performing in New York and my friends started to call me Gaga. They said I was very theatrical. … So they said, you’re Gaga,” she told Walters.
