He is performing live, writing songs and making recurring appearances at the Grand Ole Opry. He has released music since the show, but the sources available do not establish a debut-album release date.
He is building a full-time country music career
Foster, from Addis, Louisiana, is a singer and songwriter whose official biography describes his sound as neo-traditional country influenced by the 1980s and 1990s. Since his run on American Idol, he has pursued music as a full-time career, with headline dates and festival performances, songwriting sessions with Nashville writers, and appearances on bills with established country artists. His official biography outlines that work.

He has released songs, but no album date is established
TV Insider reported on January 22, 2026, that Foster released “Tell That Angel I Love Her” after the show and followed it with “Little Goes a Long Way” late in 2025. The report also said he was working on new music in Nashville and had not confirmed a debut-album release date. A May 15, 2026 update likewise described him as having released songs but not a full-length album as of that article. See the January 2026 report and the May 2026 update for those dated details.
He put his LSU studies on hold, according to January 2026 reporting
Foster’s official biography says he was co-valedictorian at Brusly High School and studied biology at Louisiana State University, intending to pursue oncology. TV Insider reported in January 2026 that he had put his education on hold to pursue music and hoped to earn an LSU degree later. That is a dated account; it does not establish whether he has since resumed classes.
