What does Kate Gosselin do for work?
In an August 2025 TikTok, Gosselin described working with one family as a pediatric home-health nurse. Us Weekly reported that she provided medical care as well as everyday assistance with bathing, feeding and dressing, and spent time playing with the child. She said she had previously worked with two families but could not balance the schedule.
Fox News quoted Gosselin describing a 12-hour day with her patient. Those accounts establish what she said about her work in August 2025; they do not verify that she still holds the same job in October 2026.
How did she return to nursing?
Us Weekly reports that Gosselin worked as a labor-and-delivery nurse before her television career. When Jon & Kate Plus 8 began airing in 2007, the family’s day-to-day life became the focus of the series. After her divorce from Jon Gosselin, the show continued as Kate Plus 8.

Us Weekly says Gosselin stepped away from nursing while raising her children and working in television. The outlet reports that she moved with several of her children to Troutman, North Carolina, in 2021, obtained a multistate registered-nurse license that expired in 2023, and renewed it in 2025.
What has she said about supporting her family?
In an August 2025 TikTok statement quoted by Fox News, Gosselin said providing for her eight children, their college funds and legal costs were reasons she continued working. She said the college funds had covered their college expenses and more. These are her statements about her finances, not an independently verified account of her income or spending.

In a social-media reply quoted by Fox News, Gosselin said she missed her former home in Pennsylvania and the time when her children were little. That expresses nostalgia; it does not establish where she lives now.
