Since Two and a Half Men ended, Jon Cryer has continued working across television, film, and theatre. His later credits include playing Lex Luthor in Supergirl, starring in NBC’s sitcom Extended Family, appearing in the 2024 documentary Brats, and taking the stage as Vice Principal Panch in a 2026 Off-Broadway revival of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
What has Jon Cryer done on television since Two and a Half Men?
One of Cryer’s most notable post-sitcom turns was a move from comedy into superhero drama: he played Lex Luthor in Supergirl and related Arrowverse series. It was a sharp contrast with Alan Harper, the role he played for 12 years on Two and a Half Men. In a June 2026 interview, Cryer reflected on the challenge of moving beyond that long-running character: “I don’t know how to do this without hitting the same note.” TheaterMania, June 18, 2026.
Cryer also returned to network sitcom work in Extended Family, an NBC comedy that TVLine described as his new series in 2024. These are representative later roles, not a complete list of his television credits.
What films and documentaries has he appeared in?
Apple’s media catalogue lists Cryer among the appearances in Brats, a 2024 documentary. That catalogue entry confirms a listed screen credit, but it is not a complete career record. Current streaming availability can vary, and the sources cited here do not establish where the documentary is available to watch.

What is Jon Cryer doing on stage?
In June 2026, TheaterMania reported that Cryer was playing Vice Principal Panch in the Off-Broadway revival of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at New World Stages. Cryer said he first joined the production as a guest speller, enjoyed the show, and later became part of the cast. He also discussed shaping his take on Panch and the ensemble’s improvisation. TheaterMania published the interview on June 18, 2026; that report does not establish whether the production is still running now.
In the same interview, Cryer offered a practical view of working in entertainment: “This business is so hard, but a shockingly valuable thing that you can bring to every project is positivity. You always need to say, ‘We can do this. We can find a way to accomplish this goal.’” Read the TheaterMania interview.
